Palmer feeling better, Bengals' offense still bad (stinks)

CINCINNATI -- Carson Palmer walked without a limp Wednesday, an indication that his sprained left ankle is doing fine. The quarterback's sense of optimism was intact as well.

Give him one more week.

The Cincinnati Bengals have run out of time to get their offense working. They're 0-2 heading into a game at the Giants on Sunday, one that will provide either a U-turn for their season or a plunge into the abyss.

"It seems like it's the end of the world to a lot of people," Palmer said Wednesday. "This team has a lot of hope left. We have a lot to play for, a lot of pride. The Giants started 0-2 (last season). A lot can be done from 0-2."

So far, the offense has gone nowhere.

An offense that features a Pro Bowl MVP throwing to a pair of Pro Bowl receivers has reached the end zone only once, and that came on a running play. Palmer has the league's lowest passer rating at 37.1 with three interceptions and only 228 yards total. T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson have combined for 11 catches and 129 yards in two games.

They've lost all their games and all their hubris.

"I don't think, really, to tell you the truth, any of us are playing with any confidence right now," Johnson said Wednesday. "I'm not sure why it is that way. We know the kind of swagger that I carry. My confidence is not where it needs to be at all. I'm sort of frustrated with the way things are going the past two games."

Palmer has been at the bull's-eye of it all.

The offensive line's struggles have left him exposed to jarring hits. He broke his nose in the third preseason game when he was hit by two players, and sprained his left ankle in the first half of a 24-10 loss to Tennessee on Sunday when two pass rushers got to him again.

He's had to get rid of the ball quicker than usual, playing right into the defense's strategy.

"Before you name the receivers, before you even name the quarterback, it all starts with that offensive line," Johnson said. "It don't start with us at all. I think it starts with the offensive line. It's going to have a trickle effect. When they're playing well, Carson's going to play well, and it means us on the outside, we're going to play well. Because if it doesn't start with them, the rest of us really don't matter."

The line knows it can't afford to let Palmer get beaten up by one of the NFL's top defenses, which has given up only 20 points in two games and already has seven sacks. It's the Giants' stingiest start to a season since 1952.
(Palmer ain't see nothing yet the Giants D is going to have him for lunch)

"We've got a good game plan in," right guard Bobbie Williams said. "If we go out there and execute it, it can be a huge momentum shift for us, to get us going in the right direction. Last year's Super Bowl champs - it's a great, great challenge and opportunity for the Cincinnati Bengals."

An offense known for making big plays has yet to produce one in two games. Of the Bengals' 106 plays this season, only 10 have gone for more than 10 yards. Two of them came at the end of the first half Sunday when the Titans were in a prevent defense.

The Bengals have only one run longer than 10 yards: Chris Perry scored the offense's only touchdown from the 13 on Sunday. The longest play by a receiver was a 24-yard catch by Houshmandzadeh.

Johnson is convinced all the Bengals' offense needs is one big play to change everything.

"At the beginning of every season, I have no confidence until I start rolling," he said. "It doesn't come. I'm telling you how I am, how I work. I have no mojo. T.J. will tell you the same thing: We have no mojo until we get rolling. Until we touch the ball, we're dead."

Carson Palmer won Pro Bowl MVP though! He is clearly elite! Ocho Cinco is a selfish assclown who calls for the limelight. While there is strife in the Bengals organization, this goofball races horses on foot and gets his name changed. The Bengals as a whole suck, but Eight Five certainly isn't pulling his own weight either.

It's gonna be fun seeing the Color TV Bengals plummet this season.

What a douchebag and a team cancer Crotcho Stinko is. One of the OLmen needs to put a punking on him and knock out a few more of those gold toofs. Makes me appreciate the Steelers classy WR's all the more.

It needs to happen. We have 2 weeks to organize this and get the word out. Post all over the web.
LETS WALKOUT, EVERYONE!!!! Someone mentioned walking out at the 10:00 mark in the 3rd quarter. Fine with me. But lets pick a specific time and do it EVERY GAME! Think of the publicity it will get. And no backing out even if they are doing good on the field. This is a message to the Brown family.

So, no bailing cause its 70 degrees and we are only down by 3. We gotta walk out no matter what. EVERY GAME AT THE SAME TIME.

Who's in? Who's going to spread the word? I'm in and all my friends with tix are too!

Let's get the ball rolling. Unless we want another 2 decades of suck!!!

Send a message to the Brown family and the rest of the NFL and it's fans. The Brown family is a joke, they have made fools of us all and are a disgrace to the nfl and most of all to the people of Cincinnati!!!!!

Reap what you sow Bungler fans. Tell me again how Ocho(The Cancer) Cinco is good for the game.

While you're at it go ahead and keep defending the notion that Marvin Lewis is a good coach, instead of the sissy boy we knew he was years ago. It all starts with him and the obvious lack of control he has in Cincy.

No doubt Mike Brown gets his share of credit for this....after all he did hire Lewis, not to mention he didn't have the common sense to fire him long before now when everyone else but him realized he's more suited to coach girls softball.

But after careful consideration I blame TJ Douchedhzmama.....that stunt he pulled with the terrible towel brought on the wrath of the almighty himself.

Way to go TJ.........

Here's the thing though: The Bungs have played us tough at home the last few years, and have beaten us a few times.

They are down...we need to kick them in the teeth and really humiliate this POS franchise and all it's thug players 2X this year. Anything less than total domination in both games will be unacceptable.

The Bengals haven't beaten the Steelers in two years this month and were swept by them last year. How is that "playing them tough"? This decade, Cincy has won a paltry four total games against Pittsburgh and has a six game losing streak to them at home.

If there has been anyone who has played Pittsburgh tough, it's Baltimore. The head to head matchup is dead even, and they have the more recent season sweep. Even when they were bad, we always seem to drop a game to them somehow. If anything, that is one of the many stats that needs to change starting this year. Also, the Steelers need to snap their losing streaks against Jacksonville and New England.

They beat us at Heinz in 2005, we needed OT to beat them in 06 at Heinz, and last year we beat them, but didn't dominate them on our field.

I want to smash them to pieces. I want to humiliate them. I want to beat them so badly that the players start taking their guns they usually shoot up nudie bars at 3 AM with and turn them on themselves. I want to see the Bengals beaten so badly that players decide it's better to just retire than to ever play the Steelers again.

They are the shittiest franchise in sports, a disgrace to the NFL, and I want to see them crushed like bugs.
