he could not beat out dallas baker! granted, baker playes ST, but if sweed really lit it up in training camp, i'm sure he'd see a few snaps.

i hope sweed is smarter than nate who almost blew that final drive with the taunting penalty.

He is a future player... just like Woodley and Timmons were last year.

Don't forget, he just got glasses in training camp.

I just got glasses, and it really is amazing how much it messes with your depth perception. So it will take him a few weeks to get it taken care of.

I think this is clearly a red-shirt year for Limas.....hopefully he and mendenhall improve after their first year like woodley and timmons have done this year, and Polamalu did in the past.

He's standing on the sideline! Whaddya expect?

Sitting out most of your rookie year never hurt anybody. If anything it might prolong your career and give you a better grasp of the game.

I am sure his time will come he will just have to be patient until his number is called.

He didnt have a good preseason and fell down the depth chart. He can only work to improve.

Lets hope he is practising well and learning as he may be needed to step in at some point.... you never know in the NFL...

Don't need him.

Have you forgotten the last several games where no recievers were to be found? We played a injury filled defense yesterday.

I was impressed with Washington yesterday. Sweed may be the future but who would you sit in place of him right now? I think Baker was only on the field for a play or two.

Now if you want to give him a shot at returning kicks, I don't have a problem with that.

What I want to know is....

Who finally lit a fire under Washington's butt??

Limas Sweed is currently the Steelers BEST deep receiver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No offense to Ward and Holmes, but all Ben has to do is lob it up for Sweed....instant td.

Nate Washington shows up to play every blue moon. He needs to do it every week to win my vote.

he really stepped up didn't he? I've been waiting for that

He's a great #3, he has great speed, knows how to get open, lots of talent in him. if his drops are out of the way he may be resigned next year

I'd love to see him in black ad gold for many more years

Is he even still on the team?:chuckle:
Seriously why ain't he in there, he deserves playing time. Why draft him if we are never gonna use him. Get him a shot.

Everytime I think "Put Sweed in" Washington will make a big play. Steelers front office wins again with dropping Wilson and keeping Washington. Washington has been (gasp) consistent and dependable now. We have three guys who are similar but different enough to be confusing. Why disrupt the flow?

Deserves playing time? Pray tell, what'd he do to deserve all this playing time? :coffee:

And besides, the Steelers draft for the future, not for the immediate concerns. Just hold yer hosses, you'll see him in action soon enough.
