1. Would you have Bush for 4 more years if you could?

2. How is the McCain of today (not the McCain of 8 years ago) materially different than Bush?

Please, real facts because I will check and if you have to use the word "maverick" to respond, go outside and play.

I'm recsuing myself on the grounds that, since I think Obama is going to win, this thread is irrelevant.

You guys are lucky I'm not a mod anymore, because this thread and the other would be an instant lock.

Simple answers...

1. Yes. not because I like what Bush has done. I haven't liked President Bush since he first took office. However, he has been better than the alternatives. Now, if you show me a Ronald Reagan, a JFK, a Truman a FDR or TR... then my answer is No. BTW, notice that two of those presidents are Republicans and three are democrats. I truly believe that Obama's and the left's views of the economy will put us in the same position we were in during the Carter administration. A bad economy gone much worse by left-leaning policies.

2. My first answer nullifies this question. McCain is far enough right that he won't drive us into another "Malaise". However, there are significant differences. McCain understands the military and IMO, will trust his commanders more. McCain is a fiscal conservative, unlike Bush. McCain does not play the "religion card" like Bush does. Bush (Rove) trumps out social values every election cycle and then puts it away until the next election. McCain does not. That is the man's integrity.
