I just heard that the refs were going to start calling those penalties a lot more.
Hmmm.

i dont know revs...

his past associations say he is nothing more that a nut grabber and YMCA drag queen. with that being said he very well could be better than anderson.

i dont think he's a carson palmer though. ive seen where carson could be better on a different team. at this point though, theres nothing that says quinn can be better than ryan, cutler, philips, ben, eli, etc. plus all the other established qb's in the league (favre, manning, brady, brees).

quinn will be a mid pack qb at best. unfortunately that wont be enough to get the browns over the hump.

they are doomed to bungledom regardless of qb.

revefsreleets
10-13-2008, 08:50 PM
His past associations actually show him carrying an entire team on his back (ND).

Since the kid has never taken his first snap as an NFL starter, isn't it a bit premature to say that he can't or won't be better than any or even many of those who came before him? Especially since he has a couple years of NFL QB EXPERIENCE (Sorry, gotta cut off your analogy which was way off anyway).

Neither have the Cowboys, and they were penciled in by all the "experts" as the favorites to win the SB the second the Golden Boy went down. Based on what? really Cleveland didn't win this game (if they do.. though it looks like it now), the Giants lost it.

Giants have left points on the field, giving points to the Browns, and have not taken advantage of a LOT of penalties.

Your are a good fan, and a vet. I respect you very much as a fellow vet, but Browns fan ......come on yoou know the drill.

Good luck to you, actually I hope the Browns win, that will put some fear in the defending super bowl champs. But in my FF league I have the Giants kicker and I'm currently loosing the game by 1 point. Seems kicking a feild goal for the Giants at this point is useless.

No worries bro. I took no offense. I'm on your turf here, vet or not.

I'm sure your guys will get into FG range, barring another Eli INT. Whether they actually kick it or not is another thing. If I had Romeo's number, I'd have called him much earlier this season...and I'm pretty sure my number would be blocked by now.

That depends on the outlook. A humiliating loss could bring them together for when they play against one of the teams who has owned us for so long. It may be that they didn't take us seriously...and won't make that kind of mistake again.

I'll take it! At least this win was against an opponent that is worth talking about to some degree (not barely scraping by against a backup to a guy who has progressively gotten worse each season since his last playoff game).

I hope this is a turning point for both teams this season. But if it's not a turning point for the Giants...all the better for me!

So much for the Giants being the best team in the league, not to mention the NFC East being the top division. Giants looked like a High School team tonight with thier clock mgmt at the end of the game. That was pathetic. Browns weren't much better with all the penalties and mistakes they made throughout. That was two of the most undisiplined teams I've ever see play a football game.

It was the first time in 82 years that the Giants didnt force the opposing team to punt the football or turn the ball over to them. I think its the equivalent of the Steelers vastly outplaying the Texans a few years back, but still losing the game.

Throwbacks...the Browns current jerseys are pretty much identical to the one's from the 50's...

Those helmets are awful. If the font was any thinner, they might as well have written them on with a sharpie. I think the crimson tide's look a lot better if your gonna do it.:noidea:

I ain't heard Romeo sing yet...so I think I'll just stay up a bit longer. I've seen us lose games in some pretty fascinatingly dumb fashion...

I though things only went "IN" his mouth. I'd hate to hear what would come out. :chuckle:

Good game.

Mr. Duck, yes it means absoulutly nothing to me, because your team cant beat us. Beat every team in the NFL for all I care but untill you beat us take your donald duck ass elsewhere. Untill you beat us, stick your short beak in the brown dung of a Giant man for all I care.

Your avatar says what you're about so kiss my hairy white @ss. Beat the Steelers then talk trash.........oh but wait, that hasent happened in how many years now?

I really haven't taken the time to read every post on this thread (I'm too freaken tired after staying up late last night) but, to those of you that still can't give Cleveland any credit for breaking the Giants 11 game road win and for beating last years Super Bowl champs, that's ok, really.

As a diehard Browns fan and one that has really been suffering with one heart break after another, I am feeling SO GOOD today after last nights game. I know we have a loooong way to go but, you gotta admit; the Browns team that showed up last night was not the usual team that has been sucking for the past few weeks. We, as fans, have had the wind knocked out of us week after week and last nights victory gave us a much needed breather!!!

Maybe you Steeler fans can't understand why we Browns fans are so happy this morning because you are very used to winning...we are not. For us to have defeated, on Monday Night Football, in front of a national audience, the Super Bowl Champs, is something we are very proud of.

Like I said before, we've got a long way to go but, this victory last night was a shot in the arm and was SOOOOOOOOO SWEET!!!!!! :applaudit:

Thanks for listening to me...agree with me or not, I don't really care. I'm too happy and tired.................

Hey Congratulations to the browns, I was shocked this morning (no I didn't stay up to watch it, it wasn't the Steelers) when I saw the score. Of course I did watch some of it but every time I turned to the game all I saw was cleveland scoring.

So kudos :applaudit: to them. I can understand your enthusiasm for the win but really, the team should do a better job of trying to string those types of games together....too bad the coaching staff can't make that happen.

So congrats....NOW BACK IN YOUR HOLE :flap:

Well - congrats to the Browns.. that will be the only highlight of their season.

The Giants (esp. Eli Manning & messed up routes) looked like CRAP. I think that the game showed more that the Giants are overrated than that the Browns are a contendor.

LOL...aawwwwwwwwwww c'mon, I'm not ready to go back there yet!!!!

Thanks for understanding how I'm feeling this morning. And, you are so right; we need to do for the rest of the season what we did last night!! That team surprised the hell out of me!!!!!

Fine...I'll give you 10 more minutes and then back you go!!!

I almost feel bad for you in a comidic fashion. That last night your team showed all the potential and skill that hasn't been prevalent in many games and next week they'll return to form making you scratch your head wondering, "Where is the real cleveland browns?"

Unfortunately, last night wasn't them :flap:

Enjoy it though...reality will hit again Sunday at 1pm.

Said it before, here it is again.

The Giants have beaten teams that were a combined 6-16. They beat the Seahawks, Rams and Bengals who only have 2 wins between the 3 of them. The only team they beat with a winning record is Washington, who just lost to the Rams.

News flash. Giants were vastly overrated!!! Congrats to the Browns on extending Grimace Crennel's coaching tenure.

The NFC East doesn't look much like the powerhouse division of the NFL anymore does it?? Giants lose to Cleveland? Dallas to Arizona? and my favorite, the new beast of the east Washington loses to the worst team in Football.....lol I guess maybe Philly is back on top in the East this week?? They at least beat SF although they tried real hard to give that one away.

I think I'll have to drop the whole divison down 2 or 3 notches in the BCS polls.....lol
