Good for Marvin Lewis...

After watching a video of the play on Monday, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis didn't take issue with the rattling block.
"There was not a foul," Lewis said. "There were no flags thrown."
The hit came on the fourth play of the game. Ben Roethlisberger completed a 6-yard pass to Matt Spaeth near the right sideline, and Rivers tried to chase him down. Ward was farther downfield, saw the linebacker coming and leveled him.
Rivers is 2 inches taller and weights 35 pounds more than Ward, who is known as one of the league's toughest blockers. Ward already has been fined by the league twice this season for hits that weren't penalized during the game. Ward initially reveled in the hit, then showed concern for Rivers when the rookie didn't get up right away.

Good for him for coming out and setting the record straight.

So now.. what is the over/under of Hines getting a fine now?

It would be crazy to fine him or anyone else for that hit. I've seen too much football. Its a violent sport and the rules have changed over the years to protect the players, which is good.

It was also clean and I would say the same if a Bengal had made the hit.

Ward should not be penalized for that hit it was clean but who knows what that scumbag of a commisioner is thinking he probabley has dollar signs running through his head.

We already have a thread about whether Ward should or shouldn't be fined...

I am more interested in this thread about our reactions to the COACH of the Bungles coming to OUR STEELERS RECEIVER HInes Ward's defense...

Interesting, to say the least. Especially when one or two of their players are going off on Ward.

Last night on a show I was watching they called it a legal hit. If Goodell fines him for that he's going to look more like a douche than he already is.

I have all the respect for coach lewis. After all, he was part of Cowher's staff at one time. He knows what hard-nosed football is, and he knows his team has more to worry about than Hines Ward.

Over/Under - if he gets a fine - 15K
Hopefully, he won't want to bring it up at all.

I think Harrison blinked at Fitzpatrick Sunday. Probably a $25K fine coming up for that as well. The wind from the blink almost knocked him down. Nothing but a bunch of BS coming from the commish's office. KUDOS to Marvin Lewis for that. If Hines gets fined for that hit then Benson should get fined for hurting Polomolu. Both legal plays, but someone got hurt in both cases. LET THEM PLAY FOOTBALL D-BAG.

Like I said in another thread, it's not Ward's fault Rivers wasent paying attention. Looking back at the play it didnt even look like Rivers was looking at Spaeth, looks to me like he was looking for blockers comming from the opposite direction....

And well, with Hines down feild you better be looking for him comming.....
