This is amusing:

the following bromide has held true for the past 17 presidential elections: If the Redskins win their last home game prior to Election Day, the party that won the popular vote in the previous election wins the White House; if the Redskins lose, the party that lost the popular vote in the previous election wins.

In this Monday's case, a Steelers win would forecast an Obama victory; a Redskins win would indicate a McCain win.

Obama and the Redskins are currently projected winners. Something has gotta give.

ESPN's Chris Berman will do the segments earlier Monday, pending last minute schedule changes by the candidates, and they'll air at halftime of the Redskins-Pittsburgh Steelers broadcast from DC, the network announced. The game kicks off at 8:30 ET.

The only thing I can say is at least they'll be doing this at halftime so I can avoid this. Why can't ESPN stick to covering sports? What are they, CNN?

It's a sad state of affairs when football is determining the presidential outcome better than the so-called "experts".

But this year, it all changes.

GO STEELERS (vote McCain)

The worm already turned on this predictor 4 years ago....

....For 68 years through 17 elections you could be an all-knowing seer for your friends and family if you kept abreast of the Redskins' score on the Sunday or Monday prior to election day....If the Redskins lost, the incumbent party inevitably lost as well....But 2004 changed everything. The Redskins lost to the Green Bay Packers by a score of 28-14. John Kerry was giddy and getting ready for that speech of a lifetime when he would accept the concession of George W. Bush. Well, we all know how that turned out.

The Steelers winning is the best argument I have heard so far as to why Obama should be in the White House.:noidea:

2004 Redskins lost their home game prior to the election to the Packers, yet Bush still won the election.

Meaningless garbage to sell papers.

GO Steelers!
