http://www.breitbart.com/images/common/dot.gif Barack Obama (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=Barack%20Obama&sid=breitbart.com) has not even been sworn in yet as the 44th president of the United States but groups are springing up online calling for his impeachment. On Facebook, an "Impeach Barack Obama" group has attracted more than 700 members and a lively debate about the Democrat's election victory on Tuesday over Republican John McCain.
Another Facebook group of the same name has 160 members and urges others to join because "we might as well get a head start on the impeachment of Obama."
"There are a lot of Americans out there that do not fully understand the concept of Socialism or Communism which is why they've elected Obama as president," it says.
Yet another Facebook group, "Impeach Barack Hussein Obama," has 160 members.
It decries that Obama "has voiced support for various unconstitutional programs such as the assault weapons ban, universal healthcare, and various schemes for wealth distribution. (http://search.breitbart.com/q?s=wealth%20distribution&sid=breitbart.com)"
"What are we going to do about it? IMPEACH HIM!" it says.
Obama still has some way to go, however, to equal the number of "Impeach George Bush" groups on Facebook, which lists at least 95 such groups with varying membership.
Obama is to be sworn into office on January 20, 2009. He will be the first African-American president of the United States.

Well...

As I said, what is good for the Goose is good for the Gander. The rhetoric is going to only get worse from here. Every thing that was flung at Bush, will come right back at Obama.

As I said.. nothing changes.

I have been on facebook a tad recently & noticed a ton of these sorts of groups & have had a quick glance at pages of comments. Didn't take long to come across "Obama is a liar a Socalist and a Loony even for liberals"

Disappointing to see, though expected. I followed the US election process for the majority of the past year for the first time & it has woken me up to how crazy these fanatics can be on both sides.

You can't impeach a president without 3/4 of the states approval, 2/3 of the Senate (which has a democratic majority) approval, and a supreme court endictment for bribery, treason, or high crimes and misdemeanors. Obama is not socialist and that's not even a real reason to impeach him.

What's unfortunate is that this is likely to cause deeper gouges in the divisive "race" line that still exists in today's society. When this President election should have erased all lines...stupid events like this cause more damage than already had existed.

It's not the event it's the mindset of those two bigots

It's a chain of events that could happen based on the mindset of the ignorant/stupid.

Two stupid white guys are busted for a possible assassination attempt.

Now, two stupid black guys decide they see race as a bigger issue than existed before and take their frustrations out on...

Which causes more stupid white guys...

It's a stupidly vicious cycle because there are still too many people on both sides of the fence who can't see a man as a man and nothing more. Instead, they have to see the color of his skin.

It's for these very reasons why I seriously felt this country was not ready for a black president, and to be honest my mind has not changed on that despite the outcome.

Trust me when I tell you, this will not be the last such plots, and everyone - regardless of whether you supported Obama or not - should pray or hope like hell that no one succeeds.

The barrier was broken not because racists are asked nicely to be nonracists. You wouldn't give in to terrorists but you'll give in to skinheads?

Let's give credit where it's due. Bush appointed Powell and Rice to positions with high profiles. Just the pictures help. Obama will help for the same reason.

They were appointments within the government. It's different than being the man in charge, and a whole lot of people like those two racist idiots cannot accept that.

Sorry man, I'm just a skeptic. I give it less than one year before there is a serious attempt on Obama's life. I really, really hope I'm wrong.

I agree. I didn't vote for him, but I'd never wish for that to happen to any president. And I think Barry is at a very high risk for it. We may have elected a black president, which is a great step forward (if it were actually the right black president. There were millions of people who voted for him based solely on his skin color)) but I see things getting uglier before they get better. If (and when) there is attempt on his life (successful or not) look for race relations to spiral to violent levels.

Not to mention that would leave us with Joe Biden as president..........:banging:

And people......let's wait for Barry to actually break a law before we talk about impeachment.

But the fact it has happened may lessen it at least for the younger generation that sees Obama and his family in the White House.

I'm with XT and stillers on this one, sorry.

My ex-husband, who was a guard at Western Penitentiary, used to tell me all the time that the really dangerous kooks and criminals weren't contained within those walls and were out here among us, and I believe that to be true. America may have elected an AA President, but as stillers said above - it wasn't the right AA President for America and most definitely not at the right time. I can almost guarantee you that the plots are starting to forumulate already and Mr. Obama hasn't even spent one day in office. For the record, I don't want to see anything bad happen to Mr. Obama either.

As for wanting to impeach Mr. Obama - for what, I ask? I, too, believe he is an extreme socialist, but that alone isn't an impeachable offense. He may prove himself to be a teller of tall tales somewhere down the road with all of the promises he made during the campaign which he won't be able to keep, but even that isn't grounds for impeachment.

I'm in wait and see mode right now. I'm not happy with Obama and Biden being in charge, but I'm trying really hard to find some middle of the road acceptance and somehow try to support them.

Too much pub is given to this teeny-tiny segment of uber-radical freaks. If the press would just ignore them, they'd most likely go away.

This is nothing more than attention whorism...

Everyone who joins that Facebook group deserves a profanityfilterprofanityfilterprofanityfilterprofa nityfilterpunch. Impeachment is supposed to be for extreme abuses of power, not because you disagree with someone's ideas.

I hate this kind of crap. And you all know I'm no fan of Obama.
