if woodley doesn't play...who starts...andre frazier or bruce davis ? NFL.com has frazier listed as harrisons back up, and davis as woodleys backup....:noidea:

Timmons will start for himi seriously doubt that.... they don't carry 4 outside lbers on the roster, just to plug in an inside lber when one goes down.

Timmons played when Harrison was hurt briefly in the Baltimore game. Timmons starts if any of the 4 lber's are hurt.

Timmons should handle the job if woodley can't go

If only bruce davis had some impact on the team....

Get healthy LaMarr!!

He does have some impact. Unfortunately it's only on our cap space at this point......:flap:

NFL Channel just reported that Ben is probably but Woodley is out.

Explains the dropping of Davenport for a linebacker addition to the roster.

Look at the positive. If Woodley is out......Timmons will see the field a lot!!!

Could be the coming out party for LT.!!

This hurts, big time.

Obviously cuts our Pass Rush in half. If we don't get to Peyton, he'll pick the Defense apart. It's all on Timmons to step it up.

Based on what? He hasn't exactly been lighting anybody up (outside of the Ratbirds in one game) this year. Ours is by FAR the best D he's faced all year, Woodley or no Woodley.

I'm not sure we won't see some of our Rookie Davis in this game. Timmons is a bit undersized to be taking on Tackles.

Harrison 6-0 242
Woodley 6-2 265
Davis 6-2 252
Timmons 6-1 234

Woods is going to be filling in on Special Teams while Bruce Davis gets more playing time. That's my guess. Timmons will work in of coarse once in a while on the outside, but I still think he's more focussed on the ILB spot as opposed to the OLB spot.

But whatever, 1st string, 3rd string, it doesn't matter we are still THE STEELERS! and are going to BRING IT!

Davis 6-2 252

Davis is 252? He definitely doesn't look like it

Maybe he'll get playing time, but I think we'll see timmons and probably woods and frazier there too

Like someone mentioned earlier in the week, they may also be in their nickle defense a lot to stop the colts passing game, which means a lot of timmons on the field like against the bengals

that's what the official Steelers roster says, but it could be wrong, when I was in highschool they had me listed at 155, and I would have needed to be in full pads and soaking wet to be that heavy. I didn't grow til I was 19 LOL.

Either way, it'll be interesting to watch and I agree with you, Timmons will see a lot of coverage time.

I just was watching the pre game show on CBS and Phil Sims said Woodley was doubtful but he seems to think he is not going to play and Timmons will start in his place.

Timmons is a good, fast, quick player. I think he will do fine filling in.

Man, there was a whole list of players who are hurt and not playing...Smith was on there too. I had no idea he was hurt or Woodley was either.

GO STEELERS!!

Woodley is officially out according to NFL.com.

The depth chart has Bruce Davis after him, which should be exciting, but Andre Frazier or possibly Lawrence Timmons could play.

Does anyone know?

i guess it was more than a precautionary measure to keep him out of practice :(

Last I heard, which was on the CBS pregame show, Timmons was defiantly going to fill in for Woodley. Phil Simms mentioned it would be his first NFL start.

I really like what I have seen from Timmons so far. He is a pretty fast, quick player. Hopefully him, along with the rest of the D, will have a GREAT day!!

Peyton Manning....here we come!!!

GO STEELERS!! :tt02:

Woodley may be the better pass rusher, but Timmons is faster and can cover better. He'll do fine today.

i hope so.. timmons clearly is not the pass rusher woodley is.. i noticed we dropped harrison into coverage more also. our d still played good considering the gifts ben kept giving the colts. but i want woodley back.

o boy i think woodley hurt our defense a LOT more than we anticipated...

im not knocking timmons by any means... as he played solid... however fact is timmons does not possess the strengthnor the passrushing moves that woodley has and thus our passrush suffered...

if woodley played i can almost guarantee that we could've won given the fact that ben threw 3 picks... i know it's obsurd but our D faltered late because we constantly rushed 3 or 4 and couldn't get to peyton... we suceeded early in the game because we got to peyton and faltered late because we couldn't get pressure on him.

Timmons was pretty dang good in pass coverage. However, he isn't as good (right now) coming off the outside of the line in rushing situations.

That equates to Timmons, IMO, being an ILB. After all, we have the OLB position tied up anyways.

timmons will never be as good as woodley as an olb. wood has way to good of a power bull rush timmons will never be able to do.

I agree. Woodley is much faster than Timmons, esp.when it comes to rushing the qb. Wood and Harrison make for a great pass rush. I like Timmons, but Woodley defiantly brings more to the table.

You are right that Woodley is a better power rusher because of his strength and size compared to Timmons. That helps him plow thru the OT on the way to the QB.

But I would say Timmons is faster on the field than Woodley for sure. In their draft year Timmons ran 4.63 at his pro day, while Wood posted a 4.71 and 4.77.

timmons is excellent on delayed blitzes and blitzes with some open space. they will keep him at inside LB.

I was really looking forward to seeing if Woodley could get to Manning. I guess we will have to wait and see on that one.
