Chicago Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) at Pittsburgh Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl)

Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) LB Brian Urlacher (http://www.kffl.com/player/315/nfl) vs. Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) running backs
The Steelers' running game problems have been traced to poor play on the offensive line, but the inability for one back to step up and be consistently productive is also to blame. Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) RB Willie Parker (http://www.kffl.com/player/10176/nfl) ran well in the first two games, but that was against the Tennessee Titans (http://www.kffl.com/team/36/nfl) and Houston Texans (http://www.kffl.com/team/18/nfl). He has not been able to get rolling against better teams, and RBs Duce Staley (http://www.kffl.com/player/1479/nfl) and Jerome Bettis (http://www.kffl.com/player/1535/nfl) have been plagued by injuries. Meanwhile, Urlacher and the Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) defense might be the best in the NFL (http://www.kffl.com/team/77/nfl). This may not be the week for the Steelers' running game to find its way.
Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) LDE Adewale Ogunleye (http://www.kffl.com/player/1019/nfl) vs. Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) ORT Max Starks (http://www.kffl.com/player/9603/nfl)
The second-year right tackle Starks has tremendous size at 6-8, 337 pounds, and is more athletic than some give him credit for, but Ogunleye should be able to dominate this matchup and pressure Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) QB Ben Roethlisberger (http://www.kffl.com/player/9341/nfl). Ogunleye has finally reached the level of play the Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) envisioned when trading WR Marty Booker (http://www.kffl.com/player/342/nfl) and a third-round draft pick for him, and with added pressure from the line lately the Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) have been routinely dropping seven into coverage. Starks can run his man up-field, but struggles when he retreats. He will open up his pads and allow rushers inside of him with a club move. Starks does not play with good pad level and also doesn't keep his hands tight when he punches. Technically, he needs a lot of work. But for the Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) to pressure Roethlisberger and force him into mistakes, they must stop the multi-dimensional Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) running game. OLG Alan Faneca (http://www.kffl.com/player/1523/nfl) and C Jeff Hartings (http://www.kffl.com/player/1500/nfl) will be a load for the Bears' undersized tackles, and slowing the run game will not be easy. The Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) need a strong game from SS Mike Brown (http://www.kffl.com/player/334/nfl), who may play some at free safety with S Todd Johnson (http://www.kffl.com/player/6218/nfl) replacing rookie FS Chris Harris (http://www.kffl.com/player/12072/nfl) (knee) at the opposite safety position. Roethlisberger will give the ball up when pressured, the question is whether the Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) will force him into mistakes or not.
Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) QB Kyle Orton (http://www.kffl.com/player/11298/nfl) vs. Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) SS Troy Polamalu (http://www.kffl.com/player/5973/nfl)
The seat can't get any hotter for Orton with the Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) taking reps away from him in practice this week. If he doesn't play better, QB Rex Grossman (http://www.kffl.com/player/5889/nfl) will replace him soon. The Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) have the No. 1 run defense in the league, and figure to make things tough on RB Thomas Jones (http://www.kffl.com/player/46/nfl). Opponents have run with success at Steelers (http://www.kffl.com/team/30/nfl) OLBs Joey Porter (http://www.kffl.com/player/1520/nfl) and Clark Haggans (http://www.kffl.com/player/1517/nfl), but you can't make a living on it. Teams have beaten Pittsburgh throwing the football and the pressure will be on Orton to make plays. If Pittsburgh stops the run, they will blitz him from all angles. Orton must beware of Polamalu at all times. He plays with top play speed, and is a bullet on blitzes. Polamalu can be exploited in coverage, and it will be up to the Bears (http://www.kffl.com/team/11/nfl) to win individual battles to get open. WR Muhsin Muhammad (http://www.kffl.com/player/285/nfl) has not contributed much lately, and needs to have a big game. Orton has promised his best game and needs to deliver or risk going to the bench.

yea they are so quick. i wouldnt mind getting a fast DE for next year, its something we've never had before. bad thing is it doesnt work as good in a 3-4 than it would in a 4-3.

I can see the running game and defense stepping it up this week big time, shutting down the bears offense. This will keep their defense on the field, Roethlisberger will get comfortable and we will win by a decent margin.

-First post by the way, been reading on here for quite sometime without an account... good stuff guys

The key w/ players like Urlacher, much like u handle ray ray in baltimore; is to run right at them, send krieder on a seek and destroy mission right at urlacher...u cant run away from him cuz he's too fast, but u run right at him and take him outta the play.

Orton vs our secondary doesnt bother me...

Starks will have his hands full but the OL is looking to play better and still feeling the sting of the cowher ass chewing 2 weeks ago so look for them to try and assert themselves early since the bears front 7 is alittle bit on the smaller side.

Im the opposite .. I think our defense will look stellar this week but Im just worried our offense may be too hyped for this game and take ourselves right out of our gameplan if we arent careful.

The Steeelers Should be More Concerned about playing our game. Not Try To Play any other team football. Try To Play 1 Kind Of Football STEELERS FOOTBALL!

What exactly is Steelers football anymore..we've been trying to play it for the last month and its gotten us no where...so we better hunker our asses down and get back to basics like tackling and running and blocking and we should be ok.

Urlacher vs. backs is going to be huge. I've had a chance to see a few Bears games this season and one thing that stuck out to me was how difficult it was to run against Chicago with two backs. Urlacher locks on the fullback and comes after the play like a heat-seeking missile, just destroying plays before they even had a chance to start. I don't know, maybe some single-back sets could be a good way to counteract it. Or maybe Kreider will just blow up Urlacher and that'll be it.
