#92 defense
#7 for offense

So many choices here, as the Steelers played very well today as a team overall, but I gotta give 3 game balls here:

(1) Big Ben. Sure he screwed up with that first pick, but he was pretty much spot on the rest of the game and in those elements.

(2) Troy. No explanation necessary!

(3) Mr. Automatic - Jeff Reed.

Great job guys!

Let's throw some love out for the Offensive Line too. They're actually...playing pretty damn good.

This Steelers team is starting to get hot. Denver beat the Jets, so the Steelers are in the inside track for the 2nd seed! Big win today over the hated Patriots. But it's not over yet! Keep it up, you guys! Great, great game!

I ahve to agree. They had what... 1 penalty and 1 sack... maybe 2. If I remember right, one of those is a coverage sack.

They also are starting to get push on the line.

WOW.

Hey, OL, here is my game ball.... Oh wait... What is this? ANother one! Hey Harrison, here you go.

Wait.. I found another gameball (Guess the Pats don't need theirs) Here you go RB's, RB by committee is BEAUTIFUL right now.

And of course, the entire defense....

You know, if our coaches didn't suck as much, we may have won that game by 50. chuckle:

I want to give my game ball to a Patriot*.....Mr. "I-punch-guys-in-the-back-of-the-head-and-don't-get-suspended-because-I'm-a-Patricheat*".....

Matt Light....for proving what a big freaking pansy you are....Silverback knocked you out and ate your heart. For that, you get my game ball you big waste-of-life crying, holding douche.

Mike Tomlin...

He sits Willie Parker early, and then Willie is fresh in the 2nd half and just chewed up the Pats defense and spit them out.

I loved it. A fresh Willie in the 2nd half, what a difference that made.

The OL was outstanding today. Great job! I'd give it to the D, but they've been so damn good all season that you almost expect greatness out of them every week.

They were so cohesive today as a TEAM - too hard to pick just one in an overall stupendous performance by those ass-kickin' PITTSBURGH STEELERS!!! That was just .... the best game of the season so far :tt02:

I definitely think Harrison made a statement for defensive MVP at least. I would be surprised if he isnt in the running for NFL MVP. Then again Troy should be too.

I say Ryan Clark, simply for the biggest hit I have ever seen in football.

Welker's head snapped forward, then was the first thing to hit the ground. I think this hit really sent the message for the 2nd half, and Welker's absence was definitely noticed.

I tell you what....if the defensive player of the year isn't from the Steelers, this league really is corrupt.

Harrison and Polamalu are having the seasons of their lives....nobody else need apply for the Defensive Player of the Year.

The problem with that however...

is the fact that Ike is have a very good year. Our Line is having a very good year. Woodely is making a great entry into the league this year. Clark gis having a good year.

So it really is hard to say MVP on D from pittsburgh, as they are all just stifling. However it does look like Harrison is stepping out when someone needs to.

James Harrison gets my game ball for his 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. Troy Polamalu also deserves some praise, he made all kinds of plays. Max Starks looked really good at LT. Keyaron Fox was a beast on special teams. Ben recovered from a horrible mistake and played a good game. It was a really good team effort, and I think it was payback for the Patriots cheating against us all these years.

the entire team!! It was a great TEAM win. Ben never looked back after that beginning of the game interception. Willie, Mewelde and, Russel all had great games. The O-line was pretty darn good. The recievers dropped some easy passes, but caught some tough ones and took some hard hits. The defense for forcing 5 turnovers. Tomlin for a great job coaching.

The defense hands down. Yes the O-line improved and the Berger did a great job in a big tough game. Parker was 13 for 42 until 9 minutes into the 4th, at which point our defense had already dropped the hammer down and deflated all air out of the Patriots team including its defense. Moore was a lot more productive and carried us through most scoring drives.

On a more negative note, 23 points of 5 turnovers (7 of those points coming when the game was over barring a mircale), most of which were deep in Patriots territory was a bit dissapointing. I attribute it to a combination of bad play-calling and the Patriots defense attempting to make a statement.

A slight improvement in the offense and I'll be confident in winning the Superbowl.

Offensive game ball: The O-line. They had a great game. Flat out the best game they've put together so far this season.

Defensive game ball: James Harrison. It's been said countless times before, but this dude is an absolute beast. If Troy wasn't playing like he is, Harrison would be a shoe-in for D-MVP.

Solid overall performance by the entire team. This win is extra sweet for me! :tt03:

Peezy's getting sacks, lots of them, but not much more

He's on pace to have less tackles than what harrison has now

He doesn't get too many forced fumbles. Hes' basically just a pass rusher, and at times like today he's invisible even there

I'm going to give it to Ben. I thought he made some very good throws, some that were just plain dropped. He stayed alive in the pocket, and escaped several defenders. He threw the ball away when he needed, and I thought, kept us in the game until our running game got going.

Harrison. He completely and singlehandedly took away any chance New England had left to win the game. It was like some inmate at a prison camp fell over due to exhaustion, and as he was trying to get up, one of the guards kicked him right in the gut with a muddy steel-toe boot, and then when he tried to get up again, the guard kicked him right in the face. Beautiful to see that happen to a crappy bunch of cheaters like the Patriots*.

Also, some kind of mini game ball should go to Fox for what he did on special teams; he was all over the place. It seemed like he was in on every tackle, and that fumble recovery was just huge.
