A game we all waited for was finally here
The New England Patriots on our schedule again this year
They’ve been a thorn in our side for quite a long while
Mostly thanks to a large video tape file
This year they lost Brady - their Superman without the cape
And they’d also have to do it without the benefit of tape
With Brady hurt Matt Cassel would be their guy
And he came into this game on a 2 game high
This game would start out with a scary beginning
Ben gave them a gift and they were very quickly winning
The score would stay tied as the last seconds ticked
After a missed field goal Gostkowski kicked
The second half show was something to see
A long time coming for the Patriots if you ask me
The offense got it done with two back attacks
Defense did it with fumbles and consecutive strip sacks
Ryan Clark probably accidentally made Welker forget his name
And Lawrence Timmons “almost” pick 6 helped ice the game
30 unanswered points should answer questions from the doubters
As we left fans in Foxboro to cry in their chowder
We made a statement last week that requires repeating
And when the Cowboys come to Heinz we must continue the beating
