i'm positive that this thread has been started before, but just incase...i want to start it again. everyone in here has to be a sports fan and if i'm not mistaken, most people like movies. SO...give me your favorite sports movie of all time.

Friday Night Lights
- great story, great heart, great acting, and it's all based on a true story, the only thing wrong with this movie...two words...Billy Bob. haha! my favortie film though. always emotive and for the true sports fans.

Little Giants (a VERY close second place)
- "you want intimidation? i'll show you intimidation! RWAR!" haha! classic quote from a stupid little fun movie. Rick Moranis rocks! that's all i need to say about that.

All the right moves, I don't like Tom Cruise's movies that much anymore but that one was awesome.

OK, have to go with Major League for a comedy "Nice F***ing catch, don't ever do it again"

But one I could watch over and over again is Miracle! That would have to be my all time favorite!

Almost forgot about the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl DVD's, that would be my favorite!

Question.

For those that have "The longest yard"...

Reynolds or Sandler???

I like the original, but not so much the re-make.

I like them both but when it comes down to it, the original was much better.

Gridiron Gang - Took over Remember the Titans...because Disney niced it Titans down waay too much for realism.

The Replacements - Comedy/Drama style, not too shabby

Varsity Blues - Pure Comedy...trumps "Necessary Roughness"

Pure Drama - Rudy is up there, but I am still fond of "The Program".

What's Wildcats about? I've never even heard of it.

Wildcats came out in the late 80's it's about a track coach (Goldie Hahn sp?) who get's offered a HC job at the roughest highschool in Chicago I think. It's a good movie with some comedy in it. I think you would like it, it was well done. My favorite line is the principle is always saying riiiight.

Brian's Song. I have it on VHS and have kept my VCR around so that I can watch it at least once every couple of months. Phenomenal movie, though it still makes me cry.

I think I have seen that, just didn't know the name. Doesn't she challenge the football team to a "race" to earn their respect? Basically, it's about who can run the longest...and outlasts every one of them.

Amazing flick. I saw that in grade school and just sobbed. That is definitely on of my fav's but my all-time favorite is probably "The Natural". Wife and I also love "For love of the game".

Steelers Superbowl Season DVD is up there too! :chuckle:

Bull Durham

The Natural

The Replacements

The Last Boyscout(Does this count? It was really more of an action movie, but the movie itself had some eyepopping football action)

Fever Pitch(a great fan's perspective movie)

Sudden Death(another action flick mixed in with some eyepopping ice hockey action)

The Longest Yard(Adam Sandler version)

The Waterboy

The Babe

Blue Chips

Well, if it has to be sports movies, I'll be predictable and state 'Any Given Sunday' and 'We are Marshall'.

Fiday Night Lights would'ave been there (based on the book), but the film just didn't live up to expectations!!.....Sorry.

i loved that movie. i think Garret Hedlund stole the show and the directing was superb. the movie was cliche and very Varsity Blues...but its still my favorite. i almost cried watching it for the first time. =)
