I just thought I would get an early start on the Favre speculation. I'd love to see another teary eyed presser from Brett. ..

Now that he is in the AFC, I hope not....he eliminates the J-E-T-S from serious contender status.

Nice game Brett against a pathethic Seahawks team...

Excuse me but he's the second greatest human being - everyone here knows that John Kuhn is the first.

While I would love to see him play forever, missing the playoffs could really affect the decision

I just hope the decision comes fast. no more drama needed

Nah, I'm predicting he'll have his career ended due to a serious injury. There's only one more game left to fulfill the Madden Curse.

We can only hope that this old fart rides away in the sunset. I'm getting sick and tired of every last NFL vignette containing some clip of this washed-up prima donna.

WHO CARES?

If you dont, then you can choose not to participate in this thread.

I honestly love seeing Favre clutching onto fleeting glory after crying his eyes out at that press conference. I think Big Irv would be embarrassed about the whole deal. Look at it this way.....he can hang on another few seasons and then go on dancing with the stars like other has beens Jerry Rice, Emmit Smith, etc.

If I had a choice of watching the Patriots win the Super Bowl and Favre retiring, or a team that I like (Non-Steelers) winning the Super Bowl and Favre sticking around, I would gladly watch Belichick get his fourth title.

He'll hem and haw to well after the draft and retire, only to un-retire before the teardrops have been wiped from the press conference floor. He'll become the Michael Jordan of NFL retirements. :chuckle:

Truthfully, I hope so.

It looks like he's having no fun in the Jets offense.

I think he regrets coming back.

Don't get me wrong he has been one of the greats to play the game but, enough is enough. Even Elway retired after back to back super bowl wins. I hate the way Brett acts at the end of each season it drives me nuts. Now he is saying oh my arm is not what it used to be and, I hurt all the time. We all like to cheer for this guy but, I think it is time for him to say good bye.

I don't have to cheer for the guy, I can't stand him. I hope he does retire. But then again I'll miss the good Favre spoofs on YouTube....:coffee:

I think he keeps coming back because he wants to go out on top like Elway, or Bettis...he just isn't good enough to get to the top!

Why don't you look up the numbers....especially when he played for the Wizards. And Favre is better than some of the people consider elite quarterbacks in the league this year.

No, actually there are quite a few QB's better than Favre this year. Ben just doesn't happen to be one of them. You can sit there an argue about team record, but that's more of a reflection of the defense. Not Ben's play. And Favre is in his first year with a new team. And still has better numbers. BTW, you called me a child in one of my posts. But I'd check yourself making comments like that when you have an animated avatar.

Don't care if he does, don't care if he doesn't - but what I want is the lack of drama this off season so the rest of the NFL can enjoy some down time without hearing about the he said/she said crap coming out of New York and Louisiana (or wherever he's from)!

Well, I know it is not popular to criticize "Lord Farve," but I hope the heck he does and end the danged soap opera that the NFL goes through with him EVERY YEAR.

According to NFL.com he doesn't:

Looks like Phillip Rivers has 32 and Brett Favre has 21...

Unless you thought I meant career. In that case Brett Favre has had the most INTs record locked up for a long time...

I think Faver will retire. Unless he is willing to put in a ton of work this off season the way he did 2 years ago with the Packers, there is no way his body can make it through another NFL Season. It became obvious here in the last 4 weeks or so, that his arm, wasn't where it needed to be, that his body was worn out. That could be a combination of lack of off season workout and of coarse, his age. He would need to double his off season work out just to keep in shape enough to be at his best, and I don't think the guy has it in him.

I hate to see him go out this way, but its better than losing an NFC Title game with an INT. This way, he got that horrible taste out of his mouth, went out, did all he could to turn a hopeless Jets team around and just didn't have enough gas in the tank to get the job done.

I believe he retires officially.
