but steelers need them to keep winning. i think they will be the weakest team to make the playoffs but they need to secure the 5th seed because:

3 way tie between jax, s.d., and steelers = steelers out

3 way tie between k.c., s.d., steelers = steelers out.

our conference record is crap w/ only 1 game against cleveland in the afc. we lose any 3 way tie breakers. and bengals may give the cheifs a freebie if denver sews up a 1st round bye.

next weeks chargers/cheifs game will be interresting and have alot of implications of our playoff hopes.

correct me if im wrong, but i think we get the 3 way tie of kc, sd, pitt......pitt has the tie breakear to SD, and SD has the tiebreaker to KC.

Not sure. I get confused when it gets into the 3 way ties.

Ya... that's right... Too bad we lost to Steelers. That pretty much shot our playoff chances.

Yeah the 3 way tie is confusing. We beat SD who beat KC but KC has a better conf record than we do but what would happen if there was a 4 way tie but I dont think it can happend because SD and KC play each other next week, so I'm going to stop typing cause I just became more confused!!!!

If it is a 3 way tie w/ Chargers, Chiefs, and Steelers....

Pittsburgh does win that one ..

They resolve division first .. (SD and KC in same division .. SD wins that)

then SD and Pitt ... b/c of the head to head win, Pitt wins that ...

thus, we win that 3 way tie

Well SD and KC play each other next week. That will be a big factor if we win next week against the Browns. If we beat the Browns we will be 10-5. If SD wins they are 10-5 and KC is 8-7. If KC wins they are 9-6 and San Diego is 9-6. Jacksonville needs to win against Houston. Right now they are 10-4. If they lose that puts us in a 3 way tie possibly if SD wins. If they win they go to 11-4 with us behind them holding the number 2 wildcard.

There is no way that Pittsburgh get to stand on the sidelines while the Chargers and Chiefs are pitted against each other.

It is most likely that step 3 or step 4 will be the deciding factor.

Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in conference games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
12. Coin toss

Who cares what Jax does? We need the Steelers to win out, and for good reason. Why? If they can't beat 2 teams who aren't playoff caliber, why would we want to back in to the playoffs and get beat by a playoff caliber team?

We control our destiny. We win out and go in at 11-5 and we'll be a dangerous playoff team that no one will want to play. If we're 10-6 in 2 weeks we don't deserve the playoffs...
