Here in this clip he says he adopted the Steelers as his team, but I remember he said he was a die-hard fan of Bears (or was it the Giants?) right before the election during the half-time break when we played the Redskins. 1 thing 4 sure is that he didn't say the Steelers were his team. Did he lie? :noidea:

I'd much rather he do the stuff he needs to do to improve the country rather then worry about his Football Alliance.

I'd much rather he do the stuff he needs to do to improve the country rather then worry about his Football Alliance.

And what is it he's going to do exactly to improve the country?

More Talking of Change?

Or do you mean the New Deal 2 where he's going to increase taxes to put people to work paying them with tax dollars? Who's getting those jobs I wonder? What people are going to do the work? Will it be out sourced via contracts to big donors?

Is he going to be bringing the troops home or just sending them to a new place? Like Afghan or Somalia or the Sudan? I wonder.

What are his actual plans?

Is he going to provide health care for everyone? How? By raising taxes? He talks about cutting wasteful spending, what's he going to cut exactly? What areas is he going to take money away from? Education? Road Construction? the Military? How about the salaries of Government Employees?

Tell me, exactly how he plans on doing anything. Speeches don't "fix the country".

Exactly, he doesn't have anything new to fix this country. Obama was a JOKE to elect.

His Tax Plan DOES NOT give American's TRUE relief. Especially since he must RAISE taxes no matter what because of the fact that he wishes to spread the wealth that America Produces. In addition Government run health care, that costs EVEN MORE right there.

Bottom Line, Socialism has not worked before, and it will not work now in the United States. If he gets ANY of his proposed programs in place, he can KISS THE OVAL OFFICE GOOD BYE IN 2012.

Oh, is Obama going to get us out of the "wrong" war? really? Then why is he keeping all the Bush apppointments at the pentagon if they were all so wrong?

is Obama going to launch an investigation into why the Congress did nothing to prevent the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freedie Mac? Is he going to force that Madoff jerk who pulled the worlds biggest Ponzi Scheme to do real jail time?

Is he going to explain to the american people, who stopped buying SUVs and big cars because they were told to stop buying them by Global Warming "Experts" that they American People's own refusal to buy those same cars is what crushed the Automakers? So basically its our fault for the failure of the Big 3? Is he going to Fix That? Is he going to break up the Unions that cause the extremely high wages for jobs that Toyata and Honda pay half as much for? Is he?

I don't know why anyone thought it would be any different. Obama is a politician, and he's surrounding himself with more, fully-entrenched D.C. politicians, except this time they're Democrats instead of Republicans.

as for obamas lie, most politicians say the team of the town they are visiting is their favorite. even the venerable mccain and palin had several "favorites" depending on where they were campaigning.

Sorry dude. I don't know what you are talking about. The problem I have is people who make inflammatory remarks like calling our president a "f*ck stick" and try to justify it with some vague correlation as you did above. If you want to intelligently discuss who is REALLY to blame for the mess this country is in, then let's go. There is plenty of blame to go around......

Keep the guns, I'll take a healthy economy!

I can completely agree with you JD. A healthy economy is one of the most critical things imo. But I also find it curious that you would stress that. I mean after calling Bush a "f*ck stick" and saying it is impossible for anyone to do worse. That is where I disagree.

You see low taxes and less government is generally what is best for an economy, all other things being equal. Yet when Obama ran, he claimed that the best solution for our economic problems was to tax the hell out of the job creators and give it to the middle class and that he would somehow tax us into prosperity. There is little evidence to support the validity of his trickle up tax scheme yet he promoted the hell out of it.

So that tells me one of two things.

1. This very intelligent Harvard Attorney is a legitimate idiot with respect to economics (which I highly doubted), or

2. He is smart enough to know that most Americans either never took an economics course, or forgot everything they learned AND would love to be able to be part of the 90% who is RECEIVING the money taken from the wealthy job creators and at the same time helping to improve the economy. Everyone wins, right?.... Wrong.

Once he was elected, he immediately backpedaled on many of his promises, including the tax increase on the rich. This tells me he flat out lied to get elected. He didn't even wait to get into office, like Clinton (and every other democrat since Kennedy) to say "I'm sorry people, I have looked at this from every way imaginable, and I just can't find I way to give you the tax cut I ran my campaign on."

So, this is why I am concerned Jerseydude. I cannot believe a single thing Obama says. And yes, Bush has made mistakes, but at least he has core convictions, right or wrong, that he sticks to. I respect that.

With regard to the war. I also respect him for staying the course and not cutting and running when things looked bleak and he was getting the sh*t kicked out of him by the liberals and the left wing media. Just like in Vietnam, we would have won there had the liberal media not snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. and look at WWII. There were countless tactical blunders that caused hundreds of thousands of additional American deaths, BUT, I thank God we stayed the course, and you should too my friend.

Obama and Biden Heart the Steelers
By Shailagh Murray
PITTSBURGH -- Sen. Barack Obama not only has a running mate in Sen. Joseph Biden Jr. He also has a fellow sports fan.

The Democratic duo arrived at a hotel here to tape a "60 Minutes" interview and were greeted by Steelers coach Mike Tomlin. "Hey coach, I'm Joe Biden. I'm second string," joked Biden, a self-declared Steelers fan (even though the Eagles are way closer to Delaware).

"If I didn't live in Chicago, I'd be a Steelers fan," Obama told Tomlin, after he and Biden posed for a photo with Tomlin's family.

"You've brightened what has been a miserable day," Tomlin told Obama. "I had to cut 23 guys this morning. Hardest day of the year."

Obama tried to be reassuring. "Your owner has supreme confidence in you," he responded, referring to Dan Rooney, who endorsed him during the primary.

"Good luck on the season," Obama continued. "We're very proud of you." He said he may even try to go to a game. "We're playing in DC the night before the election, but no
pressure," Tomlin told him.

What I get from this is that Obama is Bears fan and a Steelers supporter. Cool with me. Rooney is an Obama supporter. Whatever. Luckily for me I like the Steelers, Dan Rooney and Obama. :chuckle:

Its the old washington 2 step... the part out of power heckles and cackles until they are in power, and then it is reversed.

Same thing happened when Reagan was elected, same thing when Clinton was elected, same thing when BUsh was elected, and now its the same with Obama. Everyone who wants it to stop now, was probably a part of it 8 years ago. Everyone who hated it 8 years ago, was probably a part of it 16 years ago.

Good luck with any president getting a chance.
