Two minutes to go and just threw a pick. Down 10 to the Packers.

I can't believe I've seen a 16-0 Season, only to have an 0-16 season the following year.

2 things I thought I'd never witness in my lifetime. Un-Freaking-Believable.

They've replaced the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the worst team of all-time. In this free agency period, it takes a special amount of ineptitude to go 0-16.

They do have a bright side about next year. 1 Win, and they already have improved.

I agree that it takes something special to go winless in the salary cap era, but the '76 Bucs are still the worst team of all time. They nearly went winless 2 seasons in a row and still hold the record for the most consecutive losses in the modern era (26). That's pretty freaking bad.

Another bright side for the Lions.

I still think they'll break their chance at breaking the record before that time comes.

The Creamsicle Bucs may have been terrible, but it was their first season ever in an era with no free agency.

The 2008 Lions are in a JV league of their own. They're not an expansion team or a new team of any kind. They've stockpiled tons of young talent and had the pickings of the best to come out of college each and every year. And they have done nothing with it. They have lost 17 straight games dating to last year.

That's awful. Period. It takes a special kind of awfulness to finish 0-16 in the Free Agency Parity Era. The Lions are that special kind of awfulness.

I am with Edman

It is horrible, but on the other hand, at least they were an expansion team in the first year. The Lions have been around forever.

That is horrible. I know Jim Rome is jumping up and down. On his show, he was cheering for an 0fer. I think that is terrible. Sorry, I think it is.

LOL I don't feel bad for the Lions but that guy I might have to give some sympathy. I can't even imagine not being able to experience atleast 1 win in a season

but u have to give calvin johnson some credit tho.. he WAS the only playmaker on the team and he still got over 1,000 yrds even when he was double or tripled covered

speaking of calvin johnson, I feel bad for him. Productive, talent, lots of potential and he is forced to play with a bunch of pure inept crap who doesn't know how to win a game or doesn't even know what a win is :chuckle:
How embarrassing it is for the ownership and management. 0-16 during the free agency era with a team that's been around long enough so to speak. I think there are high school teams that could beat hte detroit lions.

Feel kinda bad for them, actually. 30 years from now, people are going to mention the 0-16 Detroit Lions of 2008 and still be laughing.

One time in elementary school P.E., they were teaching everyone to play football (not that most of us didn't already know), and the big finale at the end of every day was that they got everybody together into two teams and played each other. One time some dude on our team did something really stupid like stand in the middle of the field screaming "I'm open!", and then when they threw him a pass, it hit him right in the face and he started crying. It was a real easy lob too, no heat on it at all. So I yelled at him, "COME ON! I'VE SEEN BETTER PLAYERS ON THE BUCCANEERS!" and the P.E. coach gave me a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for that.

I wonder if the Lions will be remembered that way -- so bad that comparing someone to them is such an insult that it's a penalty, even if the guy you insulted is on your own team.

until the ownership in detroit actually cares, the lions will still be the same sucky team. but at least they will get one sellout next season:wink02: because the steelers will be coming to town.:tt02::tt02:

its going to take them a few years to undo the crap that millen has done to this team also.

i seen the funniest sign about the lions... Mr.President, can you bailout the Lions?
