So have any of the season ticket holders here on board done the SB lottery?

I wasn't working during XL so I didn't send in the money.

This year tickets are $800 each ....gulp... I would love to go but damn that's a lot of money.

If you're a season ticket holder, the Steelers send you a letter to enter the lottery to purchase SB tickets. You submit for tickets based on the number of seats you hold. You have to pay for the seats in advance.

1 seat - 1 SB tix
2-4 seats - 2 SB tix
5-8 seats - 4 SB tix
9-12 seats - 6 SB tix
13+ seats - 8 SB tix

My brother did it for XL & got seats... he is sending in again... we were discussing about how the Tampa stadium probably has more seats than Ford Field did, but he didn't know if that meant more seats to be allotted to season ticket holders.. or more seats for corporated big-wigs...

Remember this when discussing Super Bowl tickets:

1) Every player for teams not going to the Super Bowl get 2 tickets each (3,180 tickets)

2) Coaches also get tickets but I'm not sure of the number. So you're probably talking about another 2,000 tickets

3) For the two teams playing, I believe the number allotted is 10,000 (20,000 tickets) - but this may vary based on stadium size

4) The NFL holds out 500 pairs of tickets for their individual lottery that you have to send a letter in from February - June (basically the off season) - (1,000 tickets)

HOWEVER, here's the big question. Even if you give each visiting team 20,000 tickets that would fill half the stadium (on average - I'm guessing). What the hell does the NFL do with 40,000 other tickets. Are sponsorship deals that great? What about the people that actually pay for this shite - you know THE FANS?

Do people on the waiting list get a shot at the regular season or the SB tickets? I know they do for play-off tickets because I have 4 for the 11th.

Yes, unless I ask for it back. For me it's just the pain (in my wallet) of writing out a check for $1600.
