Well who do you like for the first of the wildcards games today?

As much as i like the Matt Ryan story with the falcons i feel the cardinals have too much firepower on a turf surface. Id give it to Atlanta on any other field than turf.

Falcons-24
Cards-31

im hoping steelers west pulls out a close one 24-23.

however i fell the falcons are the more steady team.

toss-up, so i'm picking with my heart.

The Cardinals have lost 4 of their last 6, and only beat the Seahawks and Rams in that stretch. In fact, they haven't beaten anyone other than the Rams, Seahawks and 49ers since Week 6. They are in a state of complete collapse. I took the Falcons and put money on it.

Right, but if they can stop the run which they have remember against the Cowboys and a few good rush teams Matt Ryan is a rookie and will make mistakes. Like that. Already through an INT.

bad throw by ryan on that 3rd and 6. His eyes were locked in on the receiver the whole time. wonder if the pressure of playing in his first playoff game will get to him?

The flea flicker WHAT AN AMAZING CATCH IN DOUBLE COVERAGE FROM FITZGERALD!!! Cards up 7-0.

Well, you can't argue with a fleaflicker.

an edge freaking james actually on the field running 3 times in a row

Definite momentum-grabber by the Cards. Let's see if they can keep the mojo going now.

nice catch

If Edge can run the ball this well up the gut all night and the Cards get great play actions from it, they will tear the Falcons apart.

an edge freaking james actually on the field running 3 times in a rowgreat play calling. i dont thin anyone expected the cardinals to commit to the runs, especially with someone who has been on the shelf for most of the season, and just as soon as it looks like they are going to they strike with a flea flicker.

if that dont keep a defense off balance, im not sure what will.

This defense is not giving Turner one positive yard surprising how good the line looks.

Yeah, it is a shock. I didnt expect them to play this well. They have been getting in the backfield pretty much every play. They havent looked this good in a LONG time.

Damn. Everyone already knew the Cards had one of the best QBs in the league, as well as the best line up of receivers. The exposure of this new and improved defense makes them kind of scary to play (in the Super Bowl?)

Who the hell would've thought that it would be the Cardinals' defense that would be the unit that came out and dictated the course of the game so far? They've been giving the Falcons absolutely nothing.

tony hipchest
01-03-2009, 05:33 PM
as soon as it looked like the cardinals were abandoning the running game too soon, boldin gets a long td reception.

i think he tweaked an ankle trying to stay in bounds.

Preacher

Look at that... Atlanta is 2-1 pass to run... Arizona is 4-1 pass to run...

And interestingly, Mularkey (OC) Atlanta AND Wiz (HC) Cards were BOTH OC for the Steelers.

Edman

And just like that, the Cardinals go up 21-17.

A wild game so far. Turnovers will kill you in the playoffs.

Terrible play - why would you go for the home run with a rookie QB in his first playoff game when you have an entire quarter+ to play?

I picked the Cards on this board and also in a bunch of Pick'Em's. The Cards are a good football team and have the best tandem of WR's in the NFL.

P.S. Kurt Warner is NOT washed up. :chuckle:

That was a pretty good game. I don't think the Cards get past the next round however.

I see the Eagles beating the Vikings, then going on to beat the Giants. I see an Eagles at Panthers NFC Title game and the Panthers pulling it out and going to the SuperBowl for the NFC.

I see the Colts beating the Chargers, the Dolphins beating the Ravens. The Steelers beating the Dolphins, the Colts beating the Titans, and then...the Steelers beating the Colts in the AFC Title game and the Steelers beating Carolina for the 6th SB Title.
