Where did the Cards hide this D during the regular season?

The Cards have a game under their belts this postseason. Theyve got blood on one knife from the first kill so theyve got mountains of confidence rignt now. Carolina hasnt recovered from the first blow...........probably wont either. See what happens when you take a team for granted...........

Carolina is effective when they can establish the run and get some balance. Delhomme is out of sync cuz hes not a guy that can drop back and throw it 35-40 times and be effective.

Tomorrow, I bet the Chargers employ the tactic of crowding the line with 8 in the box and forcing a rusty, recent concussionized Ben to beat em.

Chargers were up 24-0 on the Dolphins in Miami in an '81 divisional game....and lost.

True - the Panthers have talent on both sides of the ball, but when Delhomme is off, he's way off. He just doesn't really seem into the game tonight for whatever reason. The Panthers had a pretty good D all season long, but Kurt and the Cards are chewing them up and spitting them out and unless the Panthers pull some miracle out of their hats, I don't see this trend changing in the second half.

The Bills were also the defending AFC champ, IIRC. Also, they were playing a team in the run-and-shoot Oilers that were even more averse to the run than the present Cards. Two rushing first downs for the Oilers in that game in the second half and the Bills don't have time for the come back.

That said, I do think the Panther could come back. They still have time to run the ball a bit if they can score early in the second half.

I would be very happy for Steelers' West if they won this game.

If the Eagles pull the upset over the G-Men then that would bode well for the Cards reaching the Super Bowl. The Cards would face the Eagles in Arizona for the NFC title game. But if the Giants win then I don't see the Cards beating the Giants in The Meadowlands.

Of course anything can happen in the NFL so its not impossible for the Cards to beat the Giants. I just wouldn't like their chances.

Who replaced Jake with Vinnie?

In all honesty is this the result of having a QB who hasn't had to win a game himself for a very long time? I thought that of the Steelers at times in the 80's and 90's. I am all for a power running game, but your QB has to be prepared to win it from behind. It is hard to do that for the first time in the playoffs.

Make that 5.

I thought the Cards just might win this game, but I didn't see this coming.

The stands are empty. No shock there.

It's one thing to lose but to have your a$$ handed to you at home after a bye is pathetic.

I really don't see Wiz getting past the Eagles if they win, but maybe the Giants if they catch Peyton Jr. on a bad day (which he's been known to have).

And to think. This game started off so well for the Panthers. I thought after that opening drive TD that a Carolina rout was on.

Then Jake threw that interception...

And to think they won this game without their big threat - Boldin.

Delhomme to Smith for a TD. Too little and way too late.

Does the prospect of playig them in 3 weeks concern anyone? They should have the DL on us.....

Well, I am glad for Whiz. Great job!! Never was a big fan of Delhomme. Sorry he had a bad day and on his birthday though.

Holy cow.... I think a small section of hell is frozen over. The Cards are going to the NFC Championship.

That would be a big concern with me. HUGE. Cards are the one team I do NOT want the Steelers playing in Tampa. This may be another Tampa Bay vs Oakland Super Bowl if you know what I mean.

XT laughed at me when I told him about 6 weeks ago that I thought the Cards could get to the SB. This is a very motivated, determined bunch and I firmly believe they are a contender.

I picked them at the beginning of the year and everyone called me crazy! :coffee:

They might have the DL on us last year but right now no. I think Arizona and us would be a very entertaining SB. Everyone has bad games and Delhomme had his. I watched 3 of the picks and couldnt believe he threw the ball when he did.

should have put some $$$ on them they had to be 300+ to 1. They were 40 -1 going into the Falcons and 25-1 going into the Panthers. Better odds than the Stockmarket.

I just finished watching the second half from last nights game. I recall some talk recently about Fitzgerald being nothing without Boldin. I admit I have only seen the Cardinals 3 times this year but Fitz has been the best WR I have seen. The Guy goes all out every play and doesn't drop a ball. You can't ask anything more from him. Great game by the Cards. Carolina looked like they couldn't be stopped running the ball but had to abandon run after Delhome kept turning it over.

You know, I saw a stat recently that said fitz has one drop in the past two seasons :jawdrop:

I have seen nate and santo drop more in one game

This guy should get more attention than TO

he isnt the drama queen that TO is, that is why he doesnt get all the attention and the fact that he plays in a bad division.

Larry Fitzgerald is the most incredible receiver I've ever seen-he's fast, he runs lethal routes, he can leap, and he has outstanding hands.

That Cards team has risen to the occassion this postseason-one thing I HAVE noticed...Ken Wisenhunt has run a more balanced offense in recent weeks. Throughout most of the year, he went pass happy to utilize his trio of talented receivers. Good to see how he's made a nice adjustment by feeding Edge the ball more.
