View Full Version : Norv is worried about the field.......

They said on ESPN that SD isn't worried about the weather but are more worried about the field condition.

Isn't it great how everyone gets all bent out of shape about Heinz Field? I'm sure we'll hear about it for days. I hope they never fix it......there's no place like home! :wink02:

Haha so true! It's definitely an advantage to the Steelers, the players love it so screw what anyone else thinks!

The Vikings made one of the biggest mistakes of their franchise history by changing their stadium and becoming a dome team, they lost a good bit of their home field advantage for the winter months and the playoffs, that team hasn't been the same since. I hope the Steelers never make a mistake like that.

Boo frickity HOOOOO. They're whining already - no surprise.

Though we've had rain, snow, ice and sleet over the last couple of days, I'm sure the field has been tarped and will be just fine as long as the elements cooperate during the game.

Right now in the Burgh, we are having some very light snow here and there and it is quite chilly - around 23 degrees.

That's awesome. Here's to it dropping another 5-10 degrees by kick off and get that wind blowing!

Is Norv pulling a John Madden? I'm sure after the Chargers lose today he will accuse the Steelers of icing the field.

Hey, cold was like our 12th man when we played the Cowboys (another warm weather team) and while the temp. says 23 the wind chill right now is 16 degrees, and it's not gonna get any warmer lol.

Oh and I agree with you to a point, 23 (but feels like 16) isn't all that cold for someone who lives in Montreal, but for someone who lives, trains, practices and plays most of their games in Southern California.....yeah, 23 is cold. That's why they requested to bring extra heating sources for the sidelines for the game, and were rightfully denied their request.

Haha, I had no idea we denied that request... We're doing our part by staying green while the Chargers just want to pollute the air with their heat!!!

And I have it on very good authority that the Chargers are the only team to ever win a postseason game against the Colts in the Manning era.

True and I'll add that had the Broncos not suffered a total melt down at end of the season, the Bolts would be sitting on their nice comfy sofas in their nice cozy mansions watching the Steelers play today.

I don't know, what's your point of bringing up SD losing to NE at home 2 years ago? I could just as easily bring up that SD lost to NE last year in NE....all that proves is that SD can lose a playoff game to NE no matter where they're at lol.

Hey the Chargers and the Cardinals could play in the Super Bowl, nothing will change the fact that if they were in any other division they never would have made the playoffs. So it goes.

I'm willing to bet that doesn't happen though :tt:

Sigh He's also been playing in Pittsburgh for what, 7 years now? I think he's acclimated lol.

And the previous poster is correct, the weather does not matter, it's the players playing. But the fact of the matter is that a warm weather team is not as used to playing in cold weather stadiums....it has an effect. And while you keep saying that the temp is 25 degrees, you keep forgetting the wind chill is 16.....and not going to get any warmer or less windy when the sun goes down.

I'm done arguing this, you are just going to keep bringing up the weather like it makes a difference. This thread was about field conditions not weather, and you seem insistent on bringing up the weather in nearly every thread you post in. It's become a silly argument.
