I know I'm new to SF and I want to start by saying I love the forum, it is truly great. With that being said, is there anyway to get a java chat room for game days for next season? I think it would be awesome if we could all get in a chat room instead of posting to a thread.

That idea has been kicked around a few times... and in the end, Mike (the owner) says no.

The mods agree. . . Look at what his happening in the threads. That ugliness would be unreal in a live chat room. Then... it would spill out into the threads.

I used to want the same thing. I gotta admit though, after listening to the mods on this issue, I gotta agree with them.

We get about what, 50-100 messages about how much arians and willie and ben suck in gameday threads?

A chatroom will make that about 500!!

I am 100% totally opposed to the idea for the reasons Preacher stated above (in addition to a few other reasons) though I appreciate you tossing it out there, hon. I think it would be a huge detriment to this board.

What would be cool is an option to instant message instead of PM's - individual chats.

Just a suggestion and I know there's ways around this with applications already on the web, but it would be cool to have that feature here and here alone.

there is one board im a member at that has a little chat box in the top left and it does very well. the only downfall is there hard to mod but on a board this size it wouldnt be much of a problem

I think you can get the sportscaster app for iphone or driod that should work. If you have a smart phone
