Browns to interview Harris for GM post

Updated: 1/15/2009 5:26:36 AM

CLEVELAND -- Channel 3 Sports has learned the Browns have scheduled an interview tomorrow with James Harris, the former vice president of player personnel of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Browns have been looking for a GM since firing Phil Savage last month.

Eric Mangini was recently hired to take over as head coach of the Browns.

Harris resigned from his position with the Jaguars following a disappointing 5-11 season.

What do you expect, they are desperate. Nobody wants to make an attempt to run the football side of that franchise.

First, Lerner got slapped in the face by Bill and it's been all downhill since.

Like a jilted teenager, he then fell head over heels in love with the first HC he found desperate enough to talk to him.

Now he's sweating bullets since all the good GM's are snubbing him too.

So who does he look at?

Shack "The Draftmaster"?

ha ha!

george c0ckanus has been their front runner all along.

and it makes sense...

they hire another belichick retread as HC to try and make up for past sins.

they will hire another raven FO guy to make up for ozzie newsom being gone, and the failed phil savage experiment.

dipping to the "suck"well twice on 2 different fronts....

its a classic example of trying to catch a falling sword.

typical browns.

I think they'll be a bit better than they were before, but only because Mangini is a better coach than Crennel. The drafting will probably be about the same. The Browns will remain a second-rate team because they once again settled for a second-rate GM. I'm not sure how good Mangini is yet, but he'll be a little hamstrung by this GM selection.
