Kurt Warner puts up some big numbers and we have all heard about the "high octane" Cardinals offense, BUT here's what I found out after checking some stats from the past regular season year. Warner only faced 4 top ten passing defenses (Washington, Dallas, Giants and Philly). He lost three of those games and through for a pedestrian 192, 236, 351 and 235 yards respectively. OK, he passed well against the Giants. And sure he threw 30 TDs but he did it against an average 18th ranked pass defense. As we all know the Steelers have THE BEST pass defense all year and in the playoffs.

Here's the entire breakdown for regular season games for anyone interested:
Cards beat 49ers (20th rank) 23-13, 197 yds, 1 TD
Cards beat Dolphins (25th) 31-10, 361 yds, 3 TD
Redskins beat Cards (7th) 24-17, 192 yds, 2 TD
Jets beat Cards (29th) 35-56, 472 yds, 2 TD
Cards beat Bills (13th) 41-17, 250 yds, 2 TD
Cards beat Cowboys (5th) 30-24, 236 yds, 2 TD
Panthers beat Cards (16th) 27-23, 381 yds, 2 TD
Cards beat Rams (19th) 34-13, 342 yds, 2 TD
Cards beat 49ers (20th) 29-24, 328 yds, 3 TD
Cards beat Seahawks (32) 26-20, 395 yds, 1 TD
Giants beat Cards (8) 37-29, 351 yds, 1 TD
Eagles beat Cards (3) 48-20, 235 yds, 3 TD
Cards beat Rams (19) 34-10, 279 yds, 1 TD
Vikings beat Cards (18) 35-14, 270 yds, 1 TD
Pats beat Cards (11) 47-7, 30 yds, 0 TD
Cards beat Seahawks (32) 34-21, 263 yds, 4 TD

Wait what are you trying to say? In the title it says our pass defense sucks so bad, but then you say we have the best pass defense all year and in the playoffs..

This sounds very much like the Shawn Alexander thing from Super Bowl XL where he had piled up all those guady numbers against so-so and bad teams.

While I think Warner is a good QB, he is only a good QB when he has a chance to set hit feet and throw. I don't think he's going to have time.

The only player on the Cardinals that scares me is Fitz. If he gets the ball and has open field, it's almost always a TD.

But I have faith that Ike can smother him and limit his YAC. Not to mention we'll have "The Demolisher" Ryan Clark sitting back there playing some center field to take away the deep threat of Fitz.
