Kurt Warner puts up some big numbers and we have all heard about the "high octane" Cardinals offense, BUT here's what I found out after checking some stats from the past regular season year. Warner only faced 4 top ten passing defenses (Washington, Dallas, Giants and Philly). He lost three of those games and through for a pedestrian 192, 236, 351 and 235 yards respectively. OK, he passed well against the Giants. And sure he threw 30 TDs but he did it against an average 18th ranked pass defense. As we all know the Steelers have THE BEST pass defense all year and in the playoffs.
Here's the entire breakdown for regular season games for anyone interested:
Cards beat 49ers (20th rank) 23-13, 197 yds, 1 TD
Cards beat Dolphins (25th) 31-10, 361 yds, 3 TD
