Stow, Ohio about 10 minutes north of Akron and 20 minutes south of Cleveland.

An easy way to meet is to go to Dom's (Stlrs4life) tailgate at Heinz. The other board I was on also had a draft day party at the stadium. We had people fly in from all over the country and make a weekend of it. Saturday was a big cookout and tailgate.

Ok everyone. We go to the Blue Moose in Parma. It's located Pearl Rd next to a Medic Drugstore that is closing - it's HUGE inside ! Kenny Roda talked about on his sport talk show and the place is packed. You may have seen us on channel 19 - WOIO last week. Swear to God there must be 500 Steelers fans in there - last week a "Pope" lead us through prayer - the baptized fans with beer imported from Pittsburgh, etc.... HUGE AZZ tv and plenty of smaller ones too......... dancing on tables, blow horns, beer, food excellent, excellent atmosphere - quite rare in this crappy city ! C U THERE THIS SUNDAY ! COME EARLY ! YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR IN PITTSBURGH ! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT _ WATCH THE GAME WITH TRU BLACK AND GOLD FANS !

Do they still sell Iron City and IC Light?

Steeler Sean
04-23-2006, 12:56 AM
Unfortunately no, They don't sell the greatest beer on Earth anymore. They said they couldn't get it from the distributor anymore. :crying01: However whenever I am craving some Iron City I just mosey on down south to Martino's on Vine and they sell ice cold Iron City. :chug:

The 1st thing I remember most about my first time at Three Rivers Stadium is the very, very COLD Iron City we got just inside the gate. The beer at Heinz is not nearly as good or as cold. I think they changed from Iron City at 3 rivers to Rolling Rock at Heinz. Then again maybe it was just the newness???????? LOL

I have to disagree about the I.C.Light not being cold at Heinz Field. Heck, At the AFC Championship game against New England last year the beer was freezing as they poured it and they were handing out spoons with the beers! It was the 1st and only time I had a Beer slurpee. :drink:

So what did you guys think of our draft? :scratchchin: I thought we did pretty dam good with where we had to draft from. I love our first two picks and think they will both be starters within a year. As for the rest of the picks we'll have to wait and see. I think that we could definetely turn Omar Jacobs into another "slash" but without the bad choking habits of Kordell.

Does every Damons carry the Steelers games. I live in Akron, just moved from Central PA

Stow Damon's carries them all...RT 8 North to Steels Corner's Rd (Good name...that just occurred to me).

Anyway, it's interesting to see all these familiar cities and towns...I know work in about 17 counties in NEO, from Painesville to Avon lake (even farther west into the Firelands) and south down to Canton, and all points in between. I see TONS of Steelers fans in the greater Cleveland area, something you'd never see in the 'Burgh (Browns fans in PA).

Im from Bowerston its about 30 min from Dover and 45 min from Canton. It is closer to the Burgh than Cleveland so the fan base is pretty split but youve still got youre occasional Bungals fan who feels they always have to add their 2 cents:blah:

hey, i'm a cleveland heights resident, a steelers fan, and a writer for a local area newspaper. i'm writing a short piece about what steelers fans who are -gasp- involved in a relationship with browns fans and how they reconcile this -- and what they're doing about the home game.

if anyone reads this, please write back to my work address: rebecca.meiser@clevescene. com

When this thread was started, I lived in New Hampshire -- then I lived in Chicago for two years.

But now, I'm an Ohio Steelers fan. Been in Columbus since July, and will be here for about three more years.

Born and (mostly) raised in New Castle, PA, maybe 70 minutes north of the Burgh. The mostly, is the few years I moved around when my dad was in the army. But right around Christmas of '04, I "ran away" from home, got married, and have been moving around to support my wife's graduate education.

I am lucky! I live 35 miles east of the mistake by the lake, cleve, and I have a Steelers fan right across the street, and our new neighbors two doors down is a huge Steelers fan, he just informed me. It will be a good summer.

Be glad you do not live in Indiana, my friend. At least in Ohio you have a large Steeler fanbase due to terrible nature of Stinkanati. In Indiana, it's like being the only Catholic in a Protestant town. I've only worn my jersey a few times out here, and the "Hoosiers" have been sharpening their pitchforks ever since. Pray for me, if you are so inclined.

Might as well get things going again.

I'm from Solon, 40 min. southeast of Clowntown. Lived here most of my life. Love it here because year after year I love listening to all the Cleveland crybabies on local sports talk radio every Monday after a Clowns loss...especially after they lose to the Steelers.

Became a steeler fan by accident. i was 8 years old and spending the night at my grandpas house. he loved all sports . he lived for it. he was a diehard indians and browns fan. I wasnt much of any sports fan at the time. however that was about to change because this night the superbowl was on........

any how , my dad called me that night before the game and offered me a proposition.... ( he would always propose little $1 bets with me for fun and usually they could be about anything) . so he he told me he would bet me a buck that the rams would beat the steelers in the superbowl. he was another die hard browns fan... I gladly accepted that bet not knowing anything about their previous Superbowl success , I was more excited about the opportunity to win a bet from my dad. So i sat thru that whole game . this was the first time i could actually remember sitting through an entire game. maybe it was my grandpa hollerin at the tv in disgust or perhaps knowing i could harass my dad about losing the bet . Those definitely played into my excitement. When the Steelers hoisted the lombardi that night , i was so proud they won me a buck . i never turned back. I became a football fan and most importantly a steeler fan that night. I had to wait til 05 to see another lombardi hoisted but it was well worth it !!! cheers all !!
