I have a great idea!

For those Steeler fans lucky enough to attend Super Bowl 43, I have an idea. During the National Anthem, when you hear this verse:

OHH, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

I am asking you to hold up your Terrible Towels by each corner.

either that or a large group using terrible towel colored poster boards to make it look like one section of the stadium like a giant terrible towel.

Some do, but the respectful ones wait for the word "brave", which is when the crowd roar really peaks.

Great idea, I'm just concerned about people holding them up any earlier than the end. The perception nationally would reflect very badly on the Terrible Towel in which we hold much reverence (and expect others to - even opposing players). It could be perceived as fans placing the TT over Old Glory, which would greatly diminish our ability to demand respect for the TT.

...and even if you disagree about it being disrespectful to the American Flag.......

Logistically, having them placed up in unison on a specific word (brave), would provide much more dramatic effect than a gradual presentation of towels over the final two lines of the song - which depending on how Jennifer Hudson chooses to sing it - may take up to a minute and a half. :chuckle:
