Steelers Super Bowl Time Capsule

My first Steelers Super Bowl memories are of the Dallas loss (that still stings like a fresh wound) as I was too young to know the dynasty of the 70's. I was still young, 20 I believe. Our next appearance against Seattle I had kids.

Upon thinking about it the last time I thought that it would be cool to put back some momentoes in case any of my kids (all young still) happen to end up the raging Steelers fanatic that am. Leading up to the game I picked up some AFC Championship souvenirs and magazines and articles covering the game to be played. After the game I picked up newspapers announcing the results, magazines with opinions about the team and game, and some championship souvenirs like hats, shirts, dvds, and assorted trinkets. I placed them all in a storage box to be available to my kids if ever they should want a window into this memorable time in Pittsburgh life.

I'm planning on doing the same for this game and was wondering if anyone else had plans to do the same either for themselves or for their kids.

Of all the stuff I collected the last time I think the various newspapers are the coolest as they give a complete picture of the time frame surrounding the big game.

You can look back and see the problems and issues that we faced at and around the game. Kind of get a glimpse of life at that juncture.

I know about 7-6 years ago I was going through some old Lionel trains and found a box car wrapped in newspaper. The newspaper article it was wrapped in was a story about Chuck Noll and his Championship team. It was only the beginning of the article but it was cool to read the words penned real time as that dynasty was making its way through the sports world.
