Big Ben expected to step up as leader for postseason push
Ben Roethlisberger is not a quarterback of many throws, but he certainly knows a good pass when he sees one. And Bill Cowher delivered one the other day, figuratively tossing the leadership torch to his second-year quarterback. (12/30/05)

I would have to agree....The team is different without him in the huddle.

hines ward will always be an offensive leader for this team. but a qb in the head leadership position makes more sense

Its well documented that we are a better team w/ Ben in the lineup, this just reaffirms it. We need Ben and he needs us.. its a win-win situation.

I like to see this. He needs to step as well as every one else.

the question is, does Ben know a bad pass when he sees one? :)

Of course he knows. He is a 2nd year and he should know.

I agree. I was watching some clips of Cowher and some of the players talking about Casey and Hines being voted co-MVPs and someone, I think Cowher, said how those are the two who are always positive and pumping everyone else up in the locker room. I think Ben just gives them all that extra boost of confidence they need tho to go out there and play some real Steelers football

I will not say that this postseason will tell where Ben will go, but it will tell us if he learned from his mistakes from last year i.e. games vs jets and pats!

IMO he will take a big step this postseason. As long as the D keeps playing the way they have the last 3 games....The 2nd game vs cincy this year worries me a bit, for the fact that our D let them put up almost 40 points.
