The same five have played the whole season (19 games) together.

The Cards have never had a good O-line, but Grimm has whipped them into shape.

You have to look further than that.

The Cards put up numbers on offense.

Cardinals Offense - NFL ranking

3rd in Total Offense (YPG)
4th in Passing (YPG)
4th in Rushing (YPG)

Will our D shut it down - that is the question.

i don't think they're BAD, but they aren't the best either...

Will our D shut it down - that is the question. I think you were looking at the wrong stats. They had the LAST ranked rushing offense with only 1178 total yards for the season. Only 73.6 YPG, while the Steelers ranked 23rd in rushing with 105 YPG.

Cardinals have a decent young line that has not been hampered by injuries. Brown and Gandy are good OT's, but Gandy allowed 6 sacks and Brown 11.5 this season.

The Cardinals survive by throwing quick passes and screens to not put too much pressure on their pass protectors. The interior is a good young group, but Lyle Sendelin at C is no match for Hampton....I expect Big Snack to need a double team leaving some matchup problems.

You're kinda right - those are playoffs stats, but that's the team we're playing too.

Just curious here, IA - why do you spend so much time on a Steelers BB? Shouldn't you be woo-hoo'ing it with the other 30 Cards fans on a Cards BB? :scratchchin:

Most of what they do on offense is Kurt Warner making quick passes and getting the ball out really fast. It doesn't hurt that they have the talent they do.

I wasn't comparing teams, but it does seem like this team is playing better.

Stop looking at the 3 game season of the Cards and compare the entire season stats. Highly productive passing game and worst run game in the NFL. Kind of reminds me of the Tommy Gun offense back around 2002.

No doubt the passing game of the cards is something to be impressed about, but if the topic is about the O line......they are average, which means they are better than the Steelers, but nowhere near as good as the Redskins, Ravens, Patriots, Giants or Cowboys that we faced this year.

Brown-11.5 sacks allowed, Gandy-6.5 Sacks allowed, Lyle Sendelin is a 2nd year center from Texas and will have Casey Hampton all over him on 1st and 2nd down.

True, but the Eagles defense was pretty good. You found that out first hand.

And they scored twice as many points against the Cardinals.

I agree and they were one of the teams that tore us apart at the end of the season, but the Cardinals scored a total of 52 points in the two games.

No doubt this will be their biggest test of the season. And if Warner starts throwing a lot of short quick release passes that can only help them.

A) The Cards had a game to adjust to the Eagles. We would have done the same.
B) The Cards were DESTROYED by the Eagles the first time they played.
C) We weren't. We were just outplayed.
D) This will be a Steelers blowout.
E) There won't be any officiating excuses by the Cards fans because the calls will go against us so they can keep the game artificially close.

A)Maybe you're right or maybe they were a bad matchup for you.
B)Everyone was at this point in time. The Cardinals defeated them when it counted most.
C)Who's to say how the 2nd game would have played out? :noidea:
D)I highly doubt it. Steeler might win, but the Carduinals will get their points. Depends on the Cardinals defense really.
E)Already blaming the refs when you are 7 point favorites??? TOTAL CLASS!
