View Full Version : The Super Bowl jerseys look really strange

I don't much like the special jerseys for the Superbowl. They should have a special patch, but that's about it, I think.

What do you think about it?

I never buy those commemorative jerseys.

WWIIOwheelz

My first reaction was the exact same. The Steelers uniform should have nothing but black & gold, although I don't mind a patch. Incorporating totally different colors is just weird.

I hate it.

Fans will buy the game jerseys.

These are probably geared more for the corporate types that have more interest in being at the SB, than who was in it.

The SB XLIII marketing people are more interested in putting their unique stamp on things than appeasing the fan bases of the participants. (Oh, and also making sure their logo is derived from the Patriots logo)

TailgateMel

They aren't wearing them during the game... What you see them wearing in the media day is what they will be wearing... It just has a patch on them..

Those are just commemrative jerseys to try to sell more crap... I actually saw someone buying one @ Dicks this evening... They look like crap in person, too

WWIIOwheelz
01-28-2009, 09:21 PM
Yeah, I just watch some media day footage & saw them with regular uniforms having only a patch. Thank goodness! It got me all upset

I don't understand why they have more emphasis on the logo colors then the team that got there?

You got that right....glad their not wearing those in the game ? :yuck:

Luckily those are not the game jerseys. They are ugly. I bought a white replica with the XLIII patch on the right chest, just like the on-field ones.

This is kind of off topic and just a place to vent but I ordered the regular Steelers away jersey with the Superbowl patch for my self and my girlfriend from nflshop.com. Shit is pissing me off they made a mistake and put the large screen printed patch on her jersey which is a woman's cut and my jersey which is a regular men's with the tiny ass Superbowl logo, it looks retarded and would return that shit if it wasn't such a huge hassle to ship back to them and cause i wanted to wear it Sunday. Here is a pic:

I know im a little OCD about this kind of stuff but with the cost of these things you would think they could get it right

Those are just commerative jersey in a ploy to make money. The teams have never worn special jerseys in the SB and hopefully never will.

I ended up buying a patch to go with my new home jersey. I saw those in a store last week and laughed my head off. The guy in the store totally agreed with me.

doesnt negate the fact that you love the seahawk stripes, though.

hell, the cardinals would be happy wearing lions or browns jerseys in the big game. :noidea:

That looks sissy! Where is some black and gold? They need to add some Steelers colors.

At first I misunderstood the OP as that was what our boys would be wearing to the big dance!

I saw one up close and they do look cheap. The screen printed colors looked faded to me. I prefer just buying the SB XLIII patch and adding it to either a home or away stitched jersey.

My husband has the leather jacket with 5 superbowl patches on it........all over it. If we win, I think I'll buy a patch and have it sewn on the jacket for him.

That is what I will probably do...except for the myself part. :chuckle:

BTW, they got the crappy seattle colors for the logo and marketing campaign this year. "Believe in Now" I'm sure you've seen the commercials.

It is the Seahawk colors, the team that whined and cried about the reffing last time we played in the SB, even though in hindsight, every call was dead on.

The blue and green is ugly and reminds me of the whiny Seattle Shithawks.

Which also reminds me. SB logos are getting uglier and blander more and more each year.

NFL-schmucktoids, trying to appease everyone by offending nobody..... the best-ever 'add-on' logo was in SB X, the Bi-Centennial logo:
the Stillers should never have any-other colors than Black, Gold, White, except for the American flag

That jersey is farking ugly....I won't be buying one.

I am not a fan of this at all... I mean they could have at least made the stripes be black and gold (instead of matching the logo for the Super Bowl), then made the ones for the Cards red and black...

I have 2 words for this.... le ick!

They are on sale @ Dicks this week.. I think b/c they knew that they were friggin ugly..

like I said, I did see someone buying one when I was in there the other day..... I am guessing mainly because they are on sale for $60 whereas the other jerseys there are $85....

the ugly-ness is not worth the $25 savings IMHO

Last-week, I snarfed a #86/WARD throw-back jersey for just $37 (S&H included) from eBay:
Hell, for $60, you can get a pair of '70s's-style jerseys simply entering 'steelers throwback jersey' @ eBay

I was just at Dicks in Robinson and I didn't see anyone buying these. They will probably end up shipping them to AZ. They are probably selling like hot cakes down there. What do they know about football anyway?

The person that came up with these stupid looking jerseys probably came up with those retarded "Trophy" Towels also.
