I'm so stoked at seeing #6.....in fact 2 Super Bowl wins in the past 4 seasons.

But, honestly........how many of you thought we would win the Super Bowl way back in the preseason??

With our schedule, my prediction was 9-7, wildcard team and losing in the AFCCG.

02-02-2009, 02:48 PM
10-6 is what i thought taking home the AFC North title and losing in the divisional game is what i thought was gonna happen! BUT they proved me wrong!!

Same Here:doh:

But I could sense something when we came back against Balt in that MNF game.....and it was later confirmed when we beat Dallas:tt02:

I knew it the whooole time ,Sarcasm

02-02-2009, 02:52 PM
My heart always puts us in the SB, but when I tried to think logically, I had us losing in the playoffs after winning our division.

I HATE to be wrong, but I got NO PROBLEMS with being wrong this time.

With that schedule i was happy if we got into the playoffs!

I picked our Steelers for the SB before mini camp. I picked them to play the cryboys and win. Midway through the season, I was getting some flak. Of course we did not have the pleasure of whooping the cryboys, I did in fact predict the winner!!! For the record, I am DEFINITELY NOT one of those Steeler fans that make that prediction every year Just had a "feeling" this year.

02-02-2009, 02:56 PM
A 12-4 record and def an AFC CCG but i never like to think it will go all the way as you get too nervous in the season lol.Next season with an easier schedule would be awesome to go and have back to back wins but like i said i,m not REALLY thinking tht far ahead :)

02-02-2009, 02:59 PM
haha i feel as if im spoiled being a Steelers fan. i go into every season expecting playoffs. as the season went on, i kept saying no one can beat this team in the playoffs. and guess who was right? :tt02:
i also think that this was the best NFL season we have seen or will see for a very long time. im not just talkin about our beloved Steelers. the entire NFL was great. how many playoff spots were determined on the last game? the playoffs were great, and how bout that game last night?

02-02-2009, 03:07 PM
This is my official prediction that I made on February 5, 2008:

I had them going 13-3 with a 2nd seed in the playoffs winning the Super Bowl. My pick for the previous season was close too, where I had them losing in the first round of the playoffs (http://shevdog.livejournal.com/455372.html). Of course I was wrong in 2006, where I had them going back to back.

02-02-2009, 03:11 PM
I thought 10-6 or 11-5 with another loss in the playoffs.

This team surprised me and the way they played in the playoffs and last night was simply a work of art and one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a long time.

I had us winning, in fact I even had the Cards winning their Division. But no one could of predicted them in the Super bowl

02-02-2009, 04:01 PM
I thought 9-7 due to the strength of the schedule. Now we have one for the other hand....UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

02-02-2009, 04:02 PM
I thought we'd go 11-5 and lose in the divisional round because of the OL. Happy to be wrong.

02-02-2009, 04:05 PM
I figured we'd win the division and prolly lose in the second round of the playoffs, but I'm so happy they went above and beyond my expectations.:tt02:

02-02-2009, 04:08 PM
I thought we'd go to the AFCCG at best, and that the O-line would ultimately be our downfall. Best tasting crow I've ever eaten :champs:

02-02-2009, 04:10 PM
I predicted a playoff run. BUt I NEVER thought we'd go to , let alone WIN the SB.

02-02-2009, 04:22 PM
I had us predicted at 12-4 but did think we would make the big game. I had my hopes but I felt that we could be super bowl contenders.

02-02-2009, 04:22 PM
Honestly, with our schedule I figured if we won 10+ games and made the playoffs we had a really good chance at winning the Super Bowl. So take that however you may! :tt03:

02-02-2009, 04:23 PM
I predicted playoffs, but didn't think we'd go all the way. My best friend who is a die-hard fan as well said at the beginning of the season, "We are going to play the hardest schedule in the NFL, go through the playoffs and win the Super Bowl." Thank God he was right!

02-02-2009, 04:40 PM
before the season I told all my buddies I thought the steelers would win it all, almost made a bet and wish I did on a internet gaming site of this claim!!!

Big Ben will win 3 superbowls before he is done, made that claim 3 years ago!!!

02-02-2009, 06:57 PM
I didn't think we could do it. However, I knew if we made it through the regular season we would be in great shape for the SB. I just didn't think we would go through the regular season with 12 wins.

02-02-2009, 09:57 PM
I honestly thought we would. I predicted it back in '05 when we were 7-5 before the Bears' game. My dad doubted me both years and did not send in the form to apply to get Superbowl tickets. Hopefully he will learn his lesson one day. I also predicted 4 Superbowl victories for Ben and we're halfway there.

This was more than a game - the script was written when Obama took over the team in April.

The Cardinals were that team from Arizona--McCain's team.

It had to be ensured that the Steelers won to provide further legitimacy and confirmation of the Obama presidency.

Similar to the Pats winning the Super Bowl the year of 9/11. The NFL was in on it the whole time, hence the refs indecision to review the "fumble" by Warner.

THEY wanted the Steelers to win, for the country, for the economy, for Obama! It was a C-O-N-Spiracy, I tell ya!

02-02-2009, 10:07 PM
I predicted 9-7, a division title and a first round exit. I'm obviously happy that I was wrong! :tt03::tt03:

02-02-2009, 10:08 PM
I predicted 3 things in the preseason.

1. Pure bias, Steelers in the AFC. YEE!!!

2. Philly in the bowl for NFC. Close

3. Cowboys would miss the playoffs. Check.

02-02-2009, 10:11 PM
I thought 10-6 and we would be lucky to win the division and do nothing in the playoffs. When I saw in the off-season that we did nothing to fix the Oline, I figured that Ben was going to finish the season on IR. This is one time I'm loving being wrong.

SIX IS SEXY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SIX IS SEXY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seven is better....just sayin'

02-02-2009, 10:29 PM
I said it in the beginning before I had joined here, if we can clinch AFC, we can take the Superbowl.

02-02-2009, 10:31 PM
honestly 10-6 losing in Div. game. Glad I was wrong.

02-02-2009, 11:22 PM
I didn't see this coming, mostly because of the hard schedule and the OL. Glad I was wrong.

02-02-2009, 11:30 PM
Man, I'll tell you this guys, never could I have imagined the Steelers doing it the way they did it this year. I always am optimistic that they could win it all but to do it like this. Toughest schedule in 30 yrs and going 12-4 WITH all those injuries. Then playing 2 playoff games at home and to clinch the AFC title at Heinz for the first time WHILE beating the Ravens for the 3rd time. Wow, just wow. And then a comeback victory in a Super Bowl in the final 2 min from our own 12 yard line.

After watching highlights of Montana to Taylor so many times growing up, I never thought I would have my Montana to Taylor. Roethlisberger to Holmes. What a fantastic season and God Bless all the Steeler fans because you all deserve it.

02-02-2009, 11:36 PM
I predicted 16-0 and a Super Bowl win several times here, although you could be forgiven for not taking that entirely seriously.

In real life, though, I put a $50 preseason bet down in Vegas for the Steelers to win it all. At 18-1 odds, that came through pretty big-time for me.

02-02-2009, 11:48 PM
8-8 maybe 9-7, hoping no one had a season or carear ending injury. Amazing they played that many tough teams (when they were hot) and came out with a 12-4! Not to mention they were in the 4 losses right up to the end of the game. One more big play in any those and there a W.

Honestly I had no clue after the way last season ended. I am always believeing that this is the year. But realistically I dont know what I was thinking. I do know after the Dallas game I was sure we were as good as anybody in the AFC and had as good a chance.

02-03-2009, 12:25 AM
I figured we would go about 9-7, make the playoffs but lose to the Patsies in the AFCCG. With that Oline and the draft that didn't address it, I figured we were in trouble. Never dreamed Brady would get hurt and put on IR the first week.

02-03-2009, 08:17 AM
I'd have to go check, but I know I had us in the 12-4 to 13-3 range, which naturally has us as one of the top contenders in the league. Not sure if I predicted a SB win, but I figured we'd be in the mix...

Um...to be honest...I am a True Blind Homer and believe, in my heart of hearts that we are going to win the SB every single year.

(minus the year Ben face planted a car windshield, that was the first time I had real doubts)

I accurately predicted we would win the AFC North (WIth a 9-7 record - but that's besides the point)

All the rest is gravy.

I like gravy

02-03-2009, 11:09 AM
Honestly ........I thought 8-8, possibly 9-7..............:bonk:

Which made this season all that much sweeter!!! Hahaha....

I actually had it right (for once in my life.) I predicted a 12-4 record with us winning the Super Bowl.

02-03-2009, 12:13 PM
I didn't see this at all. Especially after the Philly game.

I really thought we would be 9-7 this year.
