View Full Version : Al Davis is an embarrassment to human beings.

Davis promoted Tom Cable to permanent Head Coach from interim today at a press conference. He still thinks it's 1980 and spoke how "Raider Nation" deserved a winning team. I almost threw my Sirius radio out the car window when I heard that one.

It took less than 2 minutes with his abrasive style to alienate the reporters who attended the meeting. He was going on telling off the reporters on how football works and how the hiring process is conducted.

Davis first stated how Cable and another were in competition with each other and Cable got the job because he won a couple of games at the end of the season and was good during the interview. I think nobody else wanted the job. Davis also said that Cable had already hired a staff even before he officially received word of the promotion. A reporter had trouble understanding Davis' logic and asked how Cable could hire a staff before he even knew he had the position. A few seconds later Davis went off on the reporter and embarassed himself in front of the media, again.

Davis also went on to whine on how only 3 teams since 2002 represented the AFC in the Super Bowl whereas 7 teams did from the NFC. He thinks it's unfair that the Steelers, Pats, and Colts dominate. Davis has no idea that he is personally responsible for the complete implosion of the team.

Like Jerry Jones, Davis is his own worst enemy and lets his ego get the best of himself. He was even referring to himself in the third person saying, "he will explain later how the decision came about between Al Davis and Tom Cable."

Davis has about as much class as a loud fart in church. The media has no respect for him and the Raiders are going nowhere fast. They could sell a lot of merchadise if they could win. "Raider Nation" my ass.:blah:

Tom Cable next season>>>>:banging:

The single best thing that could happen to the Raider franchise would be for Al Davis to kick the bucket. Until he croaks, that team is going to be a joke.

The best thing that was said about Davis is that he questions everything that the owners do and forces them to completely explore every option. Although that often wastes valuable time and money. He sounds like a bitter, jealous old man who is envious of the Steelers tradition. Remember he is from the AFL and thinks they bought out the NFL instead of the other way around.

In addition to being a clueless buffoon, Al has no honor. He refuses to honor his contracts (Kiffin, Shanahan, the $10M he stole from Irwindale when he had no intention of building there).

Every time that clown opens his mouth, Steeler Nation should thank God for the Rooneys.

It's unfair that Dan Rooney is a more competant and classier owner than you, Al Davis? If making the most of your first round talent and personnel and not being a complete jackass to your coaches and staff renders things "unfair", then yeah, things are unfair Mr. Davis.

The Steelers have less head coaches in the past thirty years than the Raiders have had in this entire decade. THAT is commitment to excellence.

Those who know me on here, know how I feel about Al, but that comment, coming from a fan of that team is just laughable! Talk about hypocrisy at it's finest!

Davis has reached the "retarded" stage of dimentia...

And whoever stated that Cable is the coach because no one else WANTS to coach Oakland is right on.

Yes, but at least Jerry Jones manages to somehow assemble that mess into a team that's capable of winning several games a year. Davis just goes about his business like a drunk wandering aimlessly.

They could sell a lot of merchadise if they could win.

Yeah, but remember, even if they don't win, they'll still sell a lot of merchandise to gang members! They've been #1 at that for decades!

Jerry Jones is a trashy owner, but he knows how to make money (his commitment to winning is based on $$$). If he could, the Cowboys uniforms would look like NASCAR fire suits. Everything is for sale with a guy like that. The difference is Jones knows he has to put a winning product on the field to generate revenue (if he COULD spend less and lose and still make money, he would), and the key thing about him is that he actually knows his own name, what day it is, etcetera, whereas Al Davis doesn't even know what decade this is. The dude is OFF his effing rocker, crazy as a moonbat.

Al Davis should keep his bitter old behind at home and have a nurse feed oatmeal to him. :flap::chuckle:

I think Al Davis is missing a few letters off his keyboard. He did wait until after the SB was over to announce the hire:
a.) In order to avoid upstaging the SB in his mind.
b.) Nobody would have paid much attention to him during the week anyway.
c. Could have left himself open to even more scrutiny if he did.

Cable reminds me of a WWI soldier climbing out of a trench and walking into direct machine gun fire or in Nam, throwing himself on a grenade. The countdown to his replacement has begun already.

I love Al Davis. He makes sure the Raiders are another team we dont have to worry about.

I bet he tries to move up and get Michael Crabtree if he runs a fast enough 40 time. Too bad there is nobody to get him the football in Oakland-LA, wherever he moves the team to.

Well, JaMarcus Russell can zip the ball 10 feet over his head and 20 yards out of bounds. That's kind of like getting the football to him.

Russell is possibly the worst starting qb in the league.
