Soon to be updated a million times - but it is what it is.

The free-agent signing period begins Feb. 27. Players denoted with an asterisk are expected to become unrestricted free agents after voiding their contracts by reaching various incentives. Teams have until Feb. 19 to designate franchise and transition players.

Hmmm - a billion LB's up for grabs - maybe Foote will stay afterall.

He wants to go to Detroit, so why not Foote and a few late round picks for maybe a 2nd or 3rd of Detroits?

Larry is a solid LB'er for us. I hope we keep him for 1 more year.

foote is a good lb 4 us.. but the emergance of lawrence timmons this season and the fact the man has SPEED.. will challenge foote to the end 4 the starting lb spot.. y have a starting lb as a back up,.. y not trade him and try to get more picks

I'd rather free up the $$$ so we can extend Miller, Harrison or Woodley. Be a shame to lose Harrison to free agency next year because we paid Foote $3mil to backup Timmons.

Think we can get a 2nd round pick off of Foote?they'd be very lucky to get a 4th.....

they'd be very lucky to get a 4th.....

Agreed .. nobody is going to give up much for a player who is going to be a free agent anyhow. They know the Steelers aren't going to extend him. They can just wait until he is free or sign someone else.

Sooooo true! The Saints got former NFL defensive Rookie of the year, Johnathon Vilma for a 4th. I bet we would get a 5th for Foote.

Still, that could be a decent Fullback, or a RT prospect like Gerald Cadogin from Penn St.

Totally agree. I am grateful for all that Foote has down here in Pittsburgh, but the future is now with Timmons.

I think we could put Foote and a second round choice in to move up to the middle of the second.

Heck, Foote, a first and a second to move up 5 to 10 spots in the first round if the correct OL was sitting there for us. Then you put together a 3, a 4, and a 5 to draft in the second, if you have extra draft picks.

That means you bring in 2 good players, a couple others, and a FA.

I am willing to see that done.

He might be an option for us if we lose BMAC. Bodden isn't a bad corner.

I think Foote would be a GREAT backup to Timmons, but I feel like we could also trade him to Detroit or something for a draft pick or two.

Fox emerged as a special teams beast and we do have Humpal and Bailey, who could be good backups..maybe.

He is not listed. In any case, as long as we can sign Sean McHugh I think Davis' days are numbered as a Steeler.

They did but it was set to kick in this season. He was due at multimillion roster bonus next month which would have kicked the 4 yr deal in.

I hope we have a look at Olshansky or Chris Canty. Both of those guys could be DE's for us that would be an upgrade over Kirshke, Eason and compete with Keisel for the starting spot on the right side.
