Let me tell you a story.
I was sitting at my desk and had just finished watching an episode of The Wire which I rent from Netflix. I heard the mailwoman pull up and thought to myself, "Dang it! If I catch her I can save a day on getting the next disc for the series."
So I head to the garage, hit the opener switch and hop into my car. As I pull out I feel a bump and hear an odd sound. Of course I get out to inspect what had caused the sound. I thought it had to have been one of my son's toys that fell under the car.
Nope.
She left a package at the garage door and right in line with my passenger side tires. http://www.pisnnapalm.com/smilies_files/headsmack.gif
Upon inspecting the package I realize that I just ran over the Mcfarlane Hines Ward figure I ordered a few days ago.
I toss the crunched box into my car and head off after her. She was quite surprised by what I showed her. I have to say I kept my calm pretty well. No yelling or cussing. Essentially, all I said was, "Just ring the door bell. I was home. Please don't leave packages at the garage door."
Next I headed to the post office to see about reimbursement. They took my name, info and hung onto the package to show the Postmaster. She wasn't in at that moment. While there in front of the clerk I finished opening the box. All I had to do was pull a flap back. The box was really crunched. The packing tape was ripped open.
Now, here's the best part.... We examine the contents. The plastic packaging and cardboard is of course ruined. The pylon is snapped off the base, but.... Hines himself appeared to be undamaged.... and... He still had hold of the football! He's one tough you know what. :tt02:
I'm calmed down now.... I just reordered another one. The Postmaster will be giving the damaged one back later. I'll open it up and try gluing the pylon back to the base. Maybe I'll give it to my son.
When I get it all back, I'll take a picture to show yinz what it looks like. Thanks for reading.
