I really don't care much for ESPN's new sports Rushmore routine, but Tirico & Van Pelt brought up something interesting today.
Try to think of a Rushmore for your team. What four faces would go on the Steelers Rushmore? They warn, and I agree, that it is an excessive in futility.
And...
... it IS the offseason.

I am watching ESPN right now, and they just revealed who would be on the PA Rushmore...did you happen to see it? The faces were....Joe Paterno, Mario L, Roberto Clemente, and Wilt Chamberlain.
For me the Steelers Rushmore would be:
Mean Joe Greene
Franco Harris
Jack Lambert
Terry Bradshaw
HometownGal

My 4 Steelers Rushmores would be:
Art Rooney, Sr. ("The Chief")
Mean Joe
Brad

Bettis

Art Rooney - started it all
Joe Greene - really is the picture of what a Steeler player should be
Chuck Noll - great coach that led to many other great coaches
Dan Rooney - made the team great & held the fort for so many years
Any other player other than Joe Greene really has its ups & downs and is impossible to choose between the rest.

Art Rooney
Chuck Noll
Bradshaw
Lambert
The more I think of it, there's no way to just have one Mt Rushmore. We'd at least have to have 3 - one for owners/coaches, one for offense, one for defense.
With that in mind:
Owners/Coaches Rushmore:
Art Rooney
Dan Rooney
Chuck Noll
Bill Cowher
Offense:
Bradshaw
Franco
Ben
Ward
Defense:
Lambert
Greene
Shell
Woodson
Nothing against Shell----I LOVED watching him crack Earl Cambell's ribs...but I might be in favor of Troy instead...
You could split up the Defense Rushmore into:
D-line:
Greene
White
Hampton (but you gotta show his gut, not just his face!)
Keisel or Kimo
LBs:
Lambert
Ham
Harrison
Joey or Greene or ? (many good choices)
DBs
Troy
Blount
Shell
Woodson

I tried to pick the 4 most important but couldn't. It's an "excessive" in futility..... or rather and exercise in futility. There's just too many to choose from.

I like these four as well. They are the ones that pretty much started the Steelers winning traditon. I would like Noll in there too, but don't know who I would remove to get him in there.
Any list that doesn't have " The Chief " on it doesn't count.

Ah, yes. Touche, sir.
I also agree that it's too hard for me.
The Chief, however, is my only lock.

Is this a "Steelers Rushmore" or a "Pittsburgh Sports Rushmore"?
Steelers: Rooney, Lambert, Greene, Bradshaw
Pittsburgh: Clemente, Bradshaw, Lemieux, Greene
Tough call either way to narrow it down to four.
A lot of names that would be hard to argue against going in either list.

Without those 2 QB's we don't win.
Steel Curtain Def is a unit hard to pick anyone guy, especially after watching the docementary where Mike Wagner was the host.
Or we just list:
Steelers
In Steel, get rid of the rock, lol.
