Stumbled upon this pic while browsing a few sites. Curious to see why he was decked out in Pittsburgh attire, and wondering if he desires to be here. (Who wouldn't?)

He can keep his overrated, grossly overpaid ass in NOLA.

I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE BUSH

he would be our 3rd down/passing down back since the mac cna catch and is amazing in the open field...

He's a return specialist who is being paid star RB wages. No thanks.

LOL

Bush is a lot more than a return specialist. Do you actually watch the Saints play when he's healthy? He's a pretty productive back who can also be valuable for screen passes and other flex options. He's been groomed the exact same way Maurice Jones-Drew is in Jacksonville and look at how he's done the last couple of years. Overpaid maybe but he's a once in a lifetime player with his combination of speed, good hands, return abilities and physical toughness. There really isn't much to not like about the guy except for his salary.

Yep, I've watched him when he's healthy. For what he's making, I'm not impressed, sorry. There are better backs who make far less. And his BASE pay jumps to $8-mil per season in 2010 under his current deal with the Saints. If I could have any RB right now, I'll take Adrian Peterson and his current salary which is about 1/3 of Bush's, thanks.

So we both agree that he's overpaid but I'm not sure I follow you on the "one dimensional" argument. You also have to keep in mind that he's still young and he's had multiple injuries that have plagued him not to mention he was stuck behind Deuce his rookie year.

Given a full healthy season, Bush is a phenom. Christ, he had nearly 800 yards combined before he got hurt not to mention his return yards including the game against Minny where he ran 2 PR's for TD's.

I kept hearing basically the same things about a certain WR who won the Heisman at Michigan back in the early '90s - "he's still young, he'll break out and take the league by storm eventually, etc., etc.," and his only claim to fame in the pros wound up being the fact that he was fortunate enough to be in exactly the right place at exactly the right time to win a SB MVP as a KR. IMO, Bush's overall performance thus far in the NFL has not come close to matching his pay rate or his draft position. Maybe it will eventually as he has shown flashes here and there, but that remains to be seen. Again, JMO - I'm not a NFL GM for a (very good) reason. :chuckle:

I agree that Bush is over-rated as far as a running back point of view is concerned. He is worthless between the tackles and can't find his space in a hole. He is simply a gifted runner (and when he runs, it looks like he actually gallops! Totally sick) and he ONLY works well in space. He needs momentum to make a play and uses all of his efforts in foot races. He is NOT worth the money he is receiving, but he is one helluva return specialist, that's for sure. One of the best in open field.

I don't think we will have to worry with him being in black and gold.

...except, of course, for the fact that the Aints also wear black and gold...
