I don't get why he's not on team's radars when they need a QB.

Sure, he's not the franchise QB that's going to lead your team for 10+ years.

But he's more than good enough to get a team like the Vikings over the hump. Or to hold down the fort in KC until they build something there.

He could even get the Lions to a few wins probally.

I just don't get it.

We'll know very soon whether or not Lefty is on anyone's radar and I strongly suspect he is. For our sake, though, I hope he's not. :hope:

I'm going to move this to the Steelers forum, as of this minute, Byron is still a Steeler.

Tampa radio this morning was talking about Leftwich, and the teams that might take a hard-look at him.

I hope we don't lose him either, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him go.

He out-played Brady in 2008! Hehehe.

Honestly, someone will snag him. With all the talk about Cassel, possibly McNabb, and others, you know the powers that be are aware of someone as quiet as Leftwich and did what was asked of him this past year.

Byron is a good football player with a very strong arm and why teams would not be interested is beyond me. I think he will be with someone this upcoming season, I am just not sure who it will be but I really dont think it is going to be our Steelers..

If the Steelers give hime a long term deal he may stay. At this point he may be looking at security as much as the opportunity to start.

There is no such thing as security in the NFL with a long term deal. It's all about the up-front money that is guaranteed.

You know what? It seems to me like the uncapped year in 2010 could work to our advantage in keeping Leftwich for one more year. But not beyond that.

Here's what I'm thinking: Why in the hell would he sign a multi-year deal that starts next season, when there's a limit of a 30 percent year-to-year salary increase? If he signs a one-year deal this season, he could sign for whatever he wants in 2010. And probably a better deal than he could get now, with one respectable but not brilliant rebound season under his belt. So maybe if we give him Batch's money, he stays for one year? It's a longshot, but just maybe.

I see someone signing him. With leftnut its who will show him the love. He wants to start simple. If he doesn't get that opportunity he could very well be back. I prefer him over Batch. But we don't always get what we want. We'll see.

Lefty looked good this year, and he did so behind a, um....not so super OL. EVERY team needing help at QB will be taking a look at him. There's no chance he comes back next year...

Thanks for the Redskin win Byron.

I love it that we got a Jaguar a ring when they couldn't do it themselves. With all the crazy losses we have had to them, we owed them one.

Lefty really looked good this year plus he lost a few pounds and was healthy for the time in years. I would hate to see him go but, you can't blame him and, I wish him the best.
Hopefully somehow we can keep him but, I got my doubts. He still has that cannon of an arm as well.

He should go to Dallas Tony Homo won't last much longer there

he's lasted much-longer than many other QBs that've had to deal with Turdell Ownself

"..... too-many characters there.....

Romo's not a bad QB.

With all the teams out there in dire need of a QB the chances of him staying with us are pretty slim. He is a more then capable QB as he has shown us all with being able to handle adversity well with been suddenly being taken out of the game before halftime he came in and held it down for us taking us through the game.

Romo's not a bad QB.

He's not a great QB either, as far as I can tell. I'd be perfectly content for him to stay put in Dallas for 10 more years or so and watch them never quite be able to get over the hump.
