I was looking at our Superbowl Victories, and came to an conclusion. SWEEPING THE NFC WEST!

Superbowl XIV:
Steelers 31
Rams 19

Superbowl XL:
Steelers 21
Seahawks 10

Superbowl XLIII:
Steelers 27

See a trend?

9'ers.. YOU'RE NEXT!

SF would LOVE to even SHOW UP to a SB right now.

..... of the Stillers' first 4 SB victories, they played a team from each of the 3 NFC Divisions (at the time) at least once (Minnesota in IX, the Cryboys in X & XIII, the Lambs in XIV), and they've never played any team in what is now the NFC South in the Big Game:
might-as-well come down here and kick one of these sorry teams' azz' next year in February '10.

They have a chance Preacher, lol. Seriously, they have a new Head Coach so who knows. Also, we probably could have said the same thing about the Arizona Cardinals last season. In that wacky NFC, anything is possible. :coffee:

The best reason to play and beat SF would be to drop their all-time Super Bowl record to 5-1, which would be below our 7-1!!!

5-0 is only better than 6-1 in winning percentage anyway.

Absolutely. No matter what the projection, every team begins the season at 0-0.

Agreed - who cares about SB winning percentage? The Jets are 1-0, tied with the 49ers.

I'd rather be 8-2 than even 7-0.

Exactly. If percentage is the case then theres about 5 other teams that are 1-0 in the Bowl. As to the Niners vs the Steelers. Idk if it will happen soon but i would definitely look forward to the chance of ending their perfect superbowl record.

I don't know if I like that idea ... seems like it means we'd have to wait a few years before we won another one. If anything, we should've had that matchup in 1994 (fricking Chargers) or maybe 1995 if the 49ers hadn't started choking every time they played Green Bay.

Re-visiting this thread just for fun. If the 9'ers land Manning, this could be a potential matchup within a very short period of time.

Potential to sweep the NFC WEST in 2012? I'd like to find out!:tt04:

GO STILLERS!

If the Niners get Manning, they'd instantly be my Super Bowl pick for the NFC next year. And boy, would I love to whoop Harbaugh's ass in a Super Bowl.

That comment was from 09, before we lost to green bay.

My bad. I didn't check that. Figured a thread that old wouldn't make a comeback. Carry on
