Damn, I thought he was a locker room cancer that was bad for the Browns. Oh well, they still have Braylon.

Considering Winslow is one of their more consistent players but was done in by their poor hygene, this is surprising.

And to think, they could've had Ben in 2004...

Heard that earlier this morning on ESPN. Can't say it surprises me. Good job Cleveland, trade your best player.

Scary thought there my friend, Scary thought, but yeah this is actually a good move by the bucs, because whoever plays quaterback on this team will have a reliable person to throw the ball to. I have in no way any disagreement for Winslow bashing the Shitstains for the staph infection he received, and how they tried to keep him quiet about it, Matter of fact when they said he wouldnt disclose it it would be either he got the HIV or a staph infection. lol

Well, he pretty much wrote his own ticket out of town and tampa is perfect for him. I mean he played college ball in fl. and you can ride a motorcycle all year long there. :noidea:

I want to know what we got back in return for him before I can really chime in on this.

It's multiple picks...and I'm pretty confident a 1st rounder isn't one of them.

However, a 2nd and a 3rd (or 4th) shouldn't be out the door.

If Rucker can step up and perform...then it might not be so bad. I know we needed draft picks in a bad sort of way as our former GM pretty much cleaned house before he left. At least our Current GM is looking to build a team through the draft.

Yeah, but is there an Army base near Tampa? Remember, Kellen's a soldier

Mangini is weeding out the prima donnas?

I'd be psyched if I was a Browns fan. 2009 season might be kind of a wash, but you're sending a damn strong message to the rest of the team by dropping the attention...lovers (curses profanity filter!). By the 2010 draft you'll probably have 17 picks in 2 years, much better than the 5 you got in 2008 :chuckle:

Winslow got a crappy deal, but he also responded to it poorly. No real winners there.

i mean shit the bucs do have 61 mill cap room.. they need 2 start signing players

They won't

They'll continue to pick up veterans that they'll sign for a year and then cut.

No, but we do have McDill AFB, I wonder if that will do. Seeing as how he likes to fly!

Don Banks from SI :

Sources say the Browns got a second-round pick this year and a fifth-rounder in 2010 from Tampa Bay in exchange for tight end Kellen Winslow, Cleveland's first-round pick in '04. That strikes me as a great deal for the Browns, to get that much for a player they weren't very enamored with.

Cleveland's new regime of head coach Eric Mangini and general manager George Kokinis wanted to both increase Cleveland's draft firepower this year, and to weed out a potential problem player who was both angling for a new contract and hasn't always been on the same page as Browns management. And yes, that's an understatement.

Browns owner Randy Lerner is believed to have been in favor of retaining Winslow, but he went along with the wishes of his new front office team. The Browns now have five draft picks this year: a first, two seconds, a fourth and a sixth.

Said a front office member of one AFC North rival:"We're thrilled he's out of the division."

How the hell do they never manage to have any draft picks?

They give them away like candy, like for those two fat guys in the middle they got.

Browns are clueless - they are eating that seven-year, $35 million contract they gave to Donte Stallworth last year. They sure can pick-em.

The Browns just gave away their best offensive weapon in my opinion, good job guys... just makes me so glad to be a Steelers fan, how about you?...

Jeff Faine actually turned out to be a decent Center. He played well in New Orleans, and then was rewarded with a big contract in Tampa.

For the most part-the coaching in Cleveland has been AWFUL, which is at least partly why these young players haven't developed well.

If Couch, Brown, and Winslow were with other teams, I wonder if they would have developed alot better.
