brian urlacher wins the award with 34 votes
dwight freeney 4 votes and
polamalu with 3 votes.

jerome bettis sure has flattened alot of defensive mvp's in his career. nice to see polamalu get those 3 votes though.

Thats great... I'm sure he will win one at some point in his career.

This is kinda funny because he actually played better last year, and put up better numbers.

i think hes being recognized for the disruption and confusion and other intangibles other than just numbers. like that samoan dance spin move he broke out with a few weeks ago.

Exactly. He makes offenses change their game plans.

He's a better player this year than he was last but they don't throw the ball anywhere near him if they can help it. That's why his numbers aren't as high.

to be looked at as the most valuable defensive player on the steelers would be quite an accomplishment in and of itself, let alone the 3rd best in the league with the likes of d. brooks, m. strahan, j. peppers, c. bailey, etc. and of course urlacher and peppers.

quite a bit of recognition in my book. (his price keeps going up and up)

Maybe in a few years that 3rd will change into 1st.

the talk about ed reed and sean taylor kind of disturbed me last year cause i am convinced the steelers have the best young safety in the league and collectively the 2 probably dont match the i.q. (or even ethic) of polamalu. when all is said and done polamalu goes down as the better safety. the question is whether he will have an impact like a harrison or lott. shell?

we sure did make him and his bears look pretty damn ordinary though a few weeks ago huh! :tt:

but urlacher is a stellar LB, he deserves it and is the leader of that great defense in chi town.

DWIGHT FREENEY??? come on... he wasnt even the sack-leader on his team... He didnt have half the year he did last year... my goodness...:chair:
