Lawyer: charge against star receiver dismissed
By PAT GRAHAM and ARNIE STAPLETON
March 2nd, 2009

A disorderly conduct charge against Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall has been dismissed in an Atlanta court, according to his Denver-based lawyer, Harvey Steinberg.

Before the charge was dropped Monday, the Pro Bowl receiver had been facing the possibility of a lengthy suspension from the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct code.

Marshal was suspended for a game last year for repeated run-ins with the law. He was looking at perhaps a suspension of eight games or more.

Marshall was arrested in Atlanta on Sunday morning following a fight and spent five hours in Atlanta City Jail before posting $300 bond.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The Associated Press on Monday the league was investigating the latest incident.

This is a real shame. He's the Broncos best player and is really talented and yet he's letting himself get in trouble and allowing playing time to be cut with suspensions that result from misbehavior in the NFL
