Brian Richard, Charleston, WV 03:17 PM ET:
Is their a team your hoping will pick you ? And thanks for the memories.
Pat White, QB, West Virginia:
Hi Brian. You're welcome, and thank you for the memories, too.

I would love to be a Pittsburgh Steeler.

That would be pretty cool. The guy has some great speed that I think we could use in many different situations. However, I believe we already drafted a Pat White last year - Dennis Dixon.

Unless the Steelers plan to convert him to WR and intend to use Dennis Dixon as a backup QB or do not draft for need then you cannot count on his wish coming true

If white falls to the 4th round I can see him being here. List him as a WR then line him up with Dixon at the same time, the possibbilities are endless.

I like that idea. Talk about a true wildcat offense.

he could be a randle-el type player and will the steelers take a chance on him

Either way we need to get Dixon envoveled in one way shape or form in this offense. The kid is a gifted athlete.

I would love to have another Randle El-type player, however, I just don't see it happening. But... who knows. Only time will tell.

He also wants to be a quarterback, and we already drafted someone extremely similar in Dennis Dixon last year.

Where is White projected to go in the draft?

meh, I prefer using that 4th/5th round pick on a real receiver not someone who may be the next randle el

or better yet, use it to draft a lineman. I believe we have a small need there....

He'd be awsome in Madden........maybe try him out there and see how that works out before we waste another pick on a QB that will never see the field.

Its funny how OL/ DL prospects are a reach at rd 4 or 5 yet an undersized college QB sounds like such a good idea to some.

IF he falls to the 4th or 5th round, I say we draft him and bring him into camp to push Dixon and maybe even learn to be a WR. Even if he's on the Practice Squad a season learning the system, couldn't hurt having his speed and knowledge of the game getting ready to be the #4 receiver. +

Does any one know if we are getting that 3rd round compensatory pick for 66? If we have that I say we use it there on White! Dennis Dixon is our #2 QB... PERIOD!!! We can take Pat and see if he is a Randel El type if that's what everybody is looking for. :drink:

I'm going to say that I think Whisenhunt will grab White in one of the later rounds. Don't forget it was Whiz who used the "gadget plays" in the offense. With Boldin being a headcase, White could see some reps at WR (obviously #4 or even #5) and some wildcat schemes behind Warner. But when he's in the game, he will make defenses play honest in terms of watching for those gadget plays.

Man, this is what all debates are all about isnt it?... this is cool

I like Pat White, but not unless he could come to the Steelers as a 7th rounder

Pat White is predicted to be a 3-4 round WR...who could be utilized as a Punt returner.

Another possible slot reciever with tremendous upside!

The kid will have to come in & be committed to being a punt returner / receiver. Not a QB. Dixon and White both playing QB is not a good plan. I like the choice if he agrees and is available in the 4th round . Lets take care of both sides of the line first and foremost.
