YAKIMA -- A football star spends the day at a Yakima school, and helps raise money for some new sports gear. Pittsburgh Steeler's player Roy Lewis visited kids at Robertson Elementary Tuesday. He used to play ball for the University of Washington. Lewis says he visits schools every chance he gets, in his hometown of Los Angeles, in Pittsburgh, and in Washington. He talks to students about the importance of education and staying in school.

"I want kids to know, especially from small inner-cities, that I was once there too, and anything is possible when you put your mind to it," says Lewis. "Don't let anybody tell you otherwise, don't let anyone set limits on your goals. You can accomplish and be whatever you want to in life."

Later in the afternoon Lewis helped out with a fundraiser for new playground equipment. He posed for pictures with students and staff, and raised close to $800.
