See plax said he wanted to be no 1 and if the gaints dont put him as no1 he wont tke the money , when he knows the vikings and the fins are looking for a Wr and have plenty of cap room.

The vikes interest has apparently faded, and they are now saying they were never interested in the first place. Poor Plax..he was figuring on cashing in and being a super hot free agent in the first week..and now nobody wants him but the Giants..

JerseySTEEL

Plaz never even showed up at NY lol, his agent did said he was sick lol...

I heard the samething as Jersey steel, Plax has the flu and never left Fla. He is now due to meet the Giants and possibly the Eagles, but No deals left according to NFL network at 7:45 p.m.

Plax could be a great player if he played hard and didn't have such a big ego. For every good catch he made he'd drop one. He is a good #2 but not a #1. I wish he was going to the Ravens so we could pound on him twice a year!

BlitzburghRockCity

Yup...He was sick alright, at all the money he is losing..

Burress failed to show up for his scheduled afternoon visit with the New York Giants, who appear to be the only serious suitors for the free-agent receiver. Burress reportedly was sick and the meeting was to be rescheduled, probably for tomorrow. Burress may have gotten sick when he heard that the Giants reportedly have proposed a six-year, $21 million contract with a $4 million signing bonus -- far below the $10 million bonus that Burress was seeking. The Vikings also may have an interest in Burress

I just picture Plax catching a ball across the middle then spiking it into the Meadowlands turf and gesturing a first down while trailing by a touchdown, WHILE THE PLAY IS STILL ALIVE, and it getting printed on page 1 of the NY POST. Yeah he is going to love the lime light of NY. And didn't show up at our mandatory/volunteer team activity? He should do well under Tom Coughlin. ON that note, it would not surprise me for Tom C. to sign Plax at the end of training camp just to learn our play book.

JerseySTEEL
03-08-2005, 11:47 PM
speaking of tom c. do u think plax would wnata c oach that his own team hates hima nd fans?

ironcitychef

Knowing Plax I would say he will keep the company line until he gets his first NYG fine for having too much tape on his fingers during a game or some nonsense. Then he will bust. It won't be PIT with Dipoala and the post-gazette asking questions anymore. Also, crime is bad in NY. Better lock up the house once he gets there too.

JerseySTEEL

heard he has been working out with culpepper.

BlitzburghRockCity

ESPN did report yesterday that Plax was in Fla with Culpeeper for a couple weeks now. No mention of workouts that I saw

does anybody happen to know somewhere i can read about the plax and vikings situation.

It would be a very good choice for him. Daunte culpepper is one of the best QB's in the NFL. He also plays the same game as Moss. Great jumping ability, big play threat and speed. Plus, anybody would rather have culpepper throwing the ball to them then eli manning

JerseySTEEL
03-09-2005, 06:50 PM
plax doesnt have the speed or the hands like moss.

HinesWard4Life8682
03-09-2005, 08:36 PM
i know that, what i mean is they play the same style, randy moss does everything better then plax tho, yeah and plax doesnt have good hands. but plax has the big play ability the vikings lost with moss

JerseySTEEL

Meeting was postponed till end of month? If I wanted a WR and he got sick, I'd give hime a week. 3 Weeks seems a little fishy. Maybe Plax takes that one year deal somewhere.

JerseySTEEL

that veyr werid for a guy thta u say u want badly and postone thta long, ya maybe plax is just feed up with FA isnt anythign new.

Saw Archie, Peyton, and Eli today at Braves games against the Pirates. Wonder if Eli knew Plax was a no go. Another year of trying to find someone to throw to.

Do we know how much that contract was for? I`m not sure I heard the figures

I read that the Giants SECOND offer was six years, 24 million, 8 million bonus... That's not 32 million, by the way, it's 24 million INCLUDING the signing bonus.

SteelersFever
03-11-2005, 06:03 AM
24 + 8 = 32 :p

BlitzburghRockCity
03-11-2005, 10:24 AM
I honestly cant cant believe Plax thought he was gonna command a 10 million bonus and all that cash in FA. He's a huge talent, but compared to the likes of Muhammed and others in the draft, he wouldnt have been my first choice either.

I think something is in the works w/ another team, otherwise the beagles wouldnt have just declined to comment, they would have flat out said NO, like the giants and vikes did.

clevestinks
03-11-2005, 02:29 PM
I heard yesterday Cinci was on the short list of teams interested?? with Chad, Hush, Plax wouldn`t fit in there. I think some teams are waiting to see his price come down, and it has come down. But Dante is probably in Tices ear right now.

madrax
03-12-2005, 12:31 AM
24 + 8 = 32 :p

again... the offer was for 24 million total... INCLUDING the signing bonus, which is prorated over the life of the contract. Base salary is 16M, bonus is 8M

16+8=24

Is it true that the contract was offered over dinner, and Plaxico was ticked off about that, and thats when the deal went sour, thats what they said on ESPN

BlitzburghRockCity
03-12-2005, 03:58 PM
Plax isnt exactly the most well versed, and cordial individual and he can come off as a bit of an arrogant arse...which isnt bad always, but he just doesnt have the numbers to back up his desires money wise at this point.

JerseySTEEL
03-12-2005, 11:57 PM
i couldnt undertsnad most of what he said in interviews kinda like my typing hehe.
