Due to some confusion on my part, I unknowingly used the incorrect thread to make fun of B.O. and the Democrats. To avoid any further confusion, I have started the official Make fun of/Bash/question/attack Obama/Democrats/or any left leaning Politicians thread. This will include posts and links from "Right Wing Conspiracy" Websites, Conservative Pundits, and of coarse, all B.O. Haters and Bashers.

Obama Still Owes Chicago $1.74M For Victory Bash

Chicago has yet to recoup the $1.74 million cost of President Obama's victory celebration in Grant Park — despite a burgeoning $50.5 million budget shortfall that threatens more layoffs and union concessions.

"The Democratic National Committee has not yet paid us,'' Peter Scales, a spokesman for the city's Office of Budget and Management, said Thursday after questions from the Chicago Sun-Times. "We're reaching out to them this week."

Seriously, watch all these videos:

http://www.youtube.com/user/machosauceproduction

This man should run for president...

Also, I wrote this right after the election:
The reasons I don't support Obama for president have nothing to do with the color of his skin. First and foremost I find it shameful that I feel required to explain that fact before I oppose his nomination for fear of being labeled a "racist". If McCain and Obama's stances on the issues had been swapped, I would gladly support Obama for president. The reason I don't support Obama are simple, the ideas I support he does not, period. I believe in the sanctitiy of traditional marriage, I am pro-life (and think that it is an absolute atrocity that Obama supports partial birth abortions, I am also pro second ammendment and believe in trickle down economics.

I challenge any Obama supporter to list me his legislative accomplishments during his time in Congress. To this day the only "accomplishments" listed are either character traits, or the fact that he was a community organizer. Unlike most Obama supporters I can name one of his legislative accomplishments, the Global Poverty Act which he sponsored (more on this later).

Obama also doesn't have much of a track record for taking a stand on tough bills and being professional and timely. Do we really want a president that during his time at the senate voted "present" (meaning I don't take a stance on tough issues) 129 times and was late to numerous congressional meetings?

Obama says we are spending too much money in Iraq and need to be spending more money at home to help our faultering economy. I can respect that, except for the fact that the Global Poverty Act calls for America to spend over $845 billion dollars over the next 13 years in foreign aid over and above what they already spend. Where do you think the federal government will get almost a trillion dollars for social programs and another 845 billion dollars for his Global Poverty Fund? Thats right, your wallet.

I also disagree with putting heavy taxes on companies making over $250,000 dollars a year, which by the way is a "tiny bussiness" not even a "small bussiness". According to the IRS, the top 10% of households pay 70% of all income taxes, so now we are going to tax them more? I disagree with paying tax returns to 40% of people who didn't pay into taxes to begin with, we shouldn't support anyone who is a drain on the economy.

Last time I checked, big bussinesses create most jobs in this country. Can a poor person give you a job?

I agree with trickle down economics because I have seen it happen to me and countless others during this time of economic crisis. Gas prices have gone up, and people are spending less money. This has caused LOWES (where I work) to cut costs and raise prices. The price of delivery has gone up 20 dollars, my hours have been cut by 2/3 (from 30 to 10 hours a week), about 10 people have been "let go" over the last two months because they were "no longer needed" (ie, cutting overhead). This is happening all over the working sector.

What do you think will happen when Obama raises taxes on everyone making $250,000 dollars or more a year? Just like LOWES, bussinesses will do everything they can to lower their cost to operate, and pass on rising costs to the consumer. They will cut jobs, outsource to overseas to find cheaper labor, and they will raise prices and lower quality. It is all common sense people.

I also am very disturbed about the "spread the wealth around" comment. Socialism has never worked outside of small utopian societies like Brook Farm, and even then, they never lasted. If a free market, capitalist society is so terrible, why do we have one of the highest immigration rates in the world? Why are people pouring in illegally over the borders risking their lives and legal action to get here? Because we have the best economic system and the best country in the world.

It is a sad day in America when a candidate can win on HYPE and cult of personality alone. A candidate who has no executive experience, has no legislative accomplishments, can barely speak at all without a teleprompter, and has admitted to using cocaine and marijuana (yet we want to hold a DUI against Bush from 20 years ago), has won an election with absolutley no substance.

America should be ashamed for buying into the HYPE and rockstar image of a candiate with nothing to back up his empty rhetoric.

No thanks Obama, keep the CHANGE!

Is it because a majority of the population actually voted for our president?

This is my last post in this thread; you can all go back to your "jump to conclusions" mat.

I'm gonna wait more than 50 days before I pass judgment on our president. What happened to all the "well, like it or not he's our president now." That died pretty quick. I could go back and quote people, but I'm not here to alienate anyone specifically.

The country is in a sh*thole, and if he can pull us out of it I will be eternally grateful.

Until then, I'm going to watch from afar and form my own opinions on the things that he does.

I suggest you all do the same (yes, this is a reference to the "news" outlets we discussed elsewhere).

How long did you stare at the picture and decide to not say anything...knowing you'd catch someone else just so that you could use that line on them?
well, if youre so interested, i barely glanced at it first take, just assuming it was just another of the hundereds of sheep pictures or the koolaid man MACH1 has stored on his database.

after it was pointed out to be actual humans i looked again. at first i just thought it was sheared pink sheep, and that i-bleed-black-and-gold was just trying to be crative after getting burnt.

but sure enough, :mg: they were infact humans. i dont know how many pairs of tits were shown or anything but am absolutely sure others who have posted in this thread could tell ya.

Pelosi Backs Talk Radio Regulations

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is supporting legislation that will force the Federal Communications Commission to “promote diversity” on the airwaves – a move many see as a stealth effort to regulate conservative-dominated talk radio without bringing back the controversial Fairness Doctrine.

Pelosi, D-Calif., has thrown her support to an amendment in a Senate bill that directs the FCC to explicitly “take actions to encourage and promote diversity in communication media ownership and to ensure that broadcast station licenses are used in the public interest,” according to CNS News.

The amendment has become known as the Durbin amendment, after its sponsor, Senate Assistant Majority Leader Dick Durbin, D-Ill.

“Certainly, I support Mr. Durbin in most things,” Pelosi told CNS News. “Diversity in media ownership is very, very, important.”

The amendment is clearly an attempt to revive the Fairness Doctrine – an unpopular FCC regulation removed in 1987 that forced broadcasters to grant equal airtime to opposing political viewpoints, Republican Rep. Mike Pence told CNS News.

Because all you have to do is lower taxes on the rich to turn the economy around. Now I know it did not work when Bush was in there, but if they would just lower them some more, I am sure it would work this time. You will never get a job from someone who has less money than you do. You also can't make a poor man rich by making a rich man poor. According to The Wall Street Journal, the top fifth of all earners currently paying 67 percent of all federal taxes http://www.aei.org/publications/filter.all,pubID.28746/pub_detail.asp Oh, and you know "spreading the wealth around" worked out well for Russia

Also I need my AK47 for deer and small game. Because what else could I use it for.Actually you can't own an AK47 here, since it is fully automatic. The "right to bear arms" was included in the constitution to allow the people to protect themselves if the government should run amuck. Good luck defending yourself against a military with you BB gun!

Because my god is better than you god. And all I have to do is keep reading the same book over and over to tell me so.What does that have to do with anything? No one has mentioned religion until you.

Because the only thing better for the economy than lowering taxes, would be to flood this country with unwanted babies. Nothing helps a family out of hard times like a new born.It has already been proven that lowering taxes is the best for an economy, but your second comment is just plain idiotic. You do realize contraceptives for both men and women are already FREE from places like the Health Department? What about this "new era of responsibility"? So what we are learning here is that no matter what you do, it isn't your fault and there is always a "reset" button should you not like the outcome?

Do you actually believe any of this? If so, I understand why you voted for Obama :banging:

Its called Silencing the Opposition. Never mind that the talk radio people have sponsers and are making money for the radio stations that they are on. What they are saying is counter to the White House so they must be silenced.

This will also go for any Religious Stations as well. So Christian Radio, better be ready to be Silenced too. Can't have those Christians actually talking to like minded folks who turn on those stations. That's just, Not Fair.

'Terrorists to the Bone'
March 10, 2009
Associated Press
http://images.military.com/cs/Satellite?blobcol=urldata&blobheadername1=Content-Type&blobheadername2=Content-Disposition&blobheadervalue1=image%2Fjpeg&blobheadervalue2=inline%3Bfilename%3Dguantanamo_ba y.jpg&blobkey=id&blobnocache=false&blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobwhere=1209979564113&ssbinary=true
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Five men charged in the Sept. 11 attacks mock U.S. authorities and proclaim themselves "terrorists to the bone" in a war crimes court filing released Tuesday.

The five Guantanamo prisoners use the six-page document to try to justify the killing of nearly 3,000 people, portraying the attack as a response to U.S. actions in Israel, Iraq and elsewhere that is supported by their Muslim faith.

"We fight you over defending Muslims, their land, their holy sites, and their religion as a whole," they write in the document, which was submitted to the Guantanamo war crimes court and released by the Pentagon, in English, over the objections of attorneys for two of the men.

The five had previously said they wanted to plead guilty to the charges against them, and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind, had expressed pride in the attacks. But this is their most detailed response yet.

All five were charged with murder and other crimes at the Guantanamo war crimes court, which was suspended by President Barack Obama in January while his administration considers new strategies for prosecuting terrorists.
The charges, which carry a potential death sentence, "are badges of honor, which we carry with pride," they write.

The charge of conspiracy is "laughable," they write, because the planning was intended to be secret.

"Your intelligence apparatus, with all its abilities ... failed to discover our military attack plans before the blessed 11 September operation ... Why then should you blame us, holding us accountable and putting us on trial?"

They criticize the U.S. for fighting "from behind roadblocks, trenches and warplanes" rather than face-to-face and describe Islam as "a religion of fear" for Jews, Christians and pagans.

"We are terrorists to the bone. So, many thanks to God," they write.

Obama has ordered the closure of Guantanamo, so if and when the trials resume, they will be held somewhere else and most likely under a different legal system than the widely criticized military commissions created by Congress and President George W. Bush.
Three of the men are acting as their own lawyers but two of the men, Ramzi Binalshibh and Mustafa al-Hawsawi, still have Pentagon-appointed military attorneys pending a court ruling on whether they are mentally competent to represent themselves.

Their lawyers, Army Maj. Jon Jackson and Navy Cmdr. Suzanne Lachelier, said they had not met with their clients to discuss the document and cannot say what may have motivated the men to sign it - or even vouch for its authenticity.

"Based on our review of the unsigned, English and typed document there is no evidence that either Mr. Binalshibh or Mr. al-Hawsawi knew about, read, or signed this document," they said in a statement e-mailed to The Associated Press.

Pentagon spokesman Jeffrey Gordon called the filing "merely another attempt by these detainees to garner publicity."

A Page From History

Norman Mattoon Thomas (November 20, 1884 to December 19, 1968) was a leading
American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the
Socialist Party of America.

The Socialist Party candidate for President of the U.S., Norman Thomas, said
this in a 1944 speech:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the
name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist
program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing
how it happened.! "
He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for
the Socialist Party. The Democrat Party has adopted our platform."

"The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's
money."

Obama's Intelligence Chairman Nominee Withdraws Name

The controversy over President Barack Obama's nominee for a top intelligence position came to an end today when Charles Freeman removed his name from consideration.

U.S. Congressman Pete Hoekstra, (R-MI), the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, issued the following statement after Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair informed the committee of the decision by Mr. Freeman to turn down his nomination to the post of Chairman of the National Intelligence Council:

"The Director of National Intelligence has informed the committee that Charles Freeman has decided to withdraw his name from further consideration as chairman of the National Intelligence Council. The decision by Mr. Freeman to withdraw his name is the right decision under the circumstances."

Conflict-of-interest issues grow for President Obama's new urban czar Adolfo Carrion

President Obama's new urban czar, Adolfo Carrión, admitted Tuesday he has not paid an architect who designed a renovation of his Bronx home two years ago.

That presents conflict-of-interest issues because at the time the architect was a key player in a Bronx development that needed approval from Carrión, then the Bronx borough president.

In a statement to the Daily News, Carrión admitted he hadn't paid architect Hugo Subotovsky to design a porch and balcony for his City Island home.

Gee, the Amateur hour thing is taking roost.

Is it amateur hour at the Obama White House?

It was embarrassing enough that President Barack Obama insulted British Prime Minister Gordon Brown last week by handing him 25 movie videos as the chief executive’s diplomatic gift to the visiting representative of America’s most important ally. Compared to Brown’s gifts, which included a pen holder made of wood from a British warship that helped stamp out the slave trade, Obama’s gift, in the words of The Telegraph, looked like the kind of thing the White House might hand out to the visiting head of a minor African state. Even worse is the context in which this huge diplomatic gaffe took place — a six-week succession of miscues, oversights, miscalculations and outright errors that suggest things have gone seriously awry in the White House.

So your argument is, that I'm obsessive because I point out that while the Country is in a recession, Obama is throwing huge parties and the White House with Wagyu Steak?

And then the Pelosi screaming about wanting a Military Plane article is explained away by you by mentioning Palin (a new favorite whipping girl for the Left) and saying Everyone does it?

Keeping this thread on target, this is from Dino's already sourced Newsweek article.

-The $787 billion stimulus, gargantuan as it was, was in fact too small and not aimed clearly enough at only immediate job-creation.
-The $275 billion home-mortgage-refinancing plan, assembled by Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, is too complex and indirect.
-The president gave up the moral high ground on spending not so much with the "stim" but with the $400 billion supplemental spending bill, larded as it was with 9,000 earmarks.
-The administration is throwing good money after bad in at least two cases—the sinkhole that is Citigroup (there are many healthy banks) and General Motors (they deserve what they get).
-The failure to call for genuine sacrifice on the part of all Americans, despite the rhetorical claim that everyone would have to "give up" something.
-A willingness to give too much leeway to Congress to handle crucial details, from the stim to the vague promise to "reform" medical care without stating what costs could be cut.
-A 2010 budget that tries to do far too much, with way too rosy predictions on future revenues and growth of the economy. This led those who fear we are about to go over Niagara Falls to deride Obama as a paddler who'd rather redesign the canoe.
-A treasury secretary who has been ridiculed on "Saturday Night Live" and compared to Doogie Howser, Barney Fife and Macaulay Culkin in "Home Alone"—and those are the nice ones.
-A seeming paralysis in the face of the banking crisis: unwilling to nationalize banks, yet unable to figure out how to handle toxic assets in another way—by, say, setting up a "bad bank" catch basin.
-A seeming reluctance to seek punishing prosecutions of the malefactors of the last 15 years—and even considering a plea bargain for Bernie Madoff, the poster thief who stole from charities and Nobel laureates and all the grandparents of Boca. Yes, prosecutors are in charge, but the president is entitled—some would say required—to demand harsh justice.
-The president, known for his eloquence and attention to detail, seemingly unwilling or unable to patiently, carefully explain how the world works—or more important, how it failed. Using FDR's fireside chats as a model, Obama needs to explain the banking system in laymen's terms. An ongoing seminar would be great.
-Obama is no socialist, but critics argue that now is not the time for costly, upfront spending on social engineering in health care, energy or education.

Hey are the Troops Home Yet?

Iraq attacks not due to Obama withdrawals: White House

The White House on Tuesday dismissed suggestions that two recent bloody attacks in Iraq were a reaction to President Barack Obama's decision to pull out most combat troops by August next year.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said security challenges remained in Iraq, but said US agreements with the Baghdad government would not have been made if they were likely to plunge Iraq back into "danger."

Gibbs was asked whether the two incidents, the latest of which was a suicide bombing on Tuesday that killed 33 people, were an encouragement to those plotting attacks or emboldened those bent on violence.

"No," said Gibbs, adding that he was not aware of any specific intelligence about such a scenario.

"But I know that the president and the team remain committed to ensuring that Iraq is a stable and secure country going forward and that we'll continue to continually evaluate that."

Gibbs also noted the Status of Forces Agreement signed by the previous Bush administration with Iraq, which mandated the complete withdrawal of all American troops by the end of 2011. Obama has said he plans to honor that timetable.

"I don't think that that would be done if it presented a scenario in which the country would fall into further danger," Gibbs said.

Among the victims of Tuesday's suicide bombing were tribal chiefs, soldiers and two journalists. It was the second major attack around Baghdad in two days, officials said.

On Sunday, a suicide bomber on a bicycle killed 28 people and wounded 56 outside a Baghdad police academy.

In a speech last month, Obama ordered an end to US combat in Iraq by August 31, 2010.
However, Obama said up to 50,000 US troops would remain under a new mission until the end of 2011, nearly nine years after his predecessor George W. Bush ordered an invasion to topple Saddam Hussein.

about B.O.

Obama Makes Use of Signing Statements

WASHINGTON -- Democrats often criticized the Bush White House for its use of the presidential signing statement, a means by which the president can reject provisions of a bill he deems unconstitutional without vetoing the entire legislation. Now the approach is back.

President Barack Obama, after signing into law a $410 billion budget bill on Wednesday, declared five provisions in the bill to be unconstitutional and non-binding, including one that would effectively restrict U.S. troop deployments under U.N. command and another aimed at preventing punishment of whistleblowers.

The move came two days after Mr. Obama ordered a review of his predecessor's signing statements and said he would rein in the use of such declarations.

"As I announced this past Monday, it is a legitimate constitutional function, and one that promotes the value of transparency, to indicate when a bill that is presented for Presidential signature includes provisions that are subject to well-founded constitutional objections," Mr. Obama said in the statement.

Democrats, and some Republicans, complained that former President George W. Bush abused the signing statement by declaring that he would ignore congressional intent on more than 1,200 sections of bills, easily a record. Critics at the time said that if the president had constitutional questions, he should veto the bill and demand a correction.

Mr. Bush's successor showed Wednesday that he isn't averse to using the same methods.

"We're having a repeat of what Democrats bitterly complained about under President Bush," said Sen. Arlen Specter (R, Pa.), who drafted legislation to nullify Mr. Bush's signing statements. He added that if Mr. Obama "wants to pick a fight, Congress has plenty of authority to retaliate."

Honestly...this is almost TOO EASY!

FBI raids office of D.C. CTO, Obama appointee

Federal agents this morning are searching the office Washington, D.C.'s Chief Technology Officer.

The search is part of "an ongoing investigation," said a spokeswoman for the FBI's D.C. Field Office, Lindsay Gotwin, said. She declined to comment further on the raid of office, at 1 Judiciary Square.

The outgoing Chief Technology Officer, Vivek Kundra, was appointed last week Chief Information Officer by the Obama administration. His last day at the city government office was February 4, a spokeswoman for D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty, Leslie Kershaw, said. He was appointed to the Washington post in 2007.

"We know the FBI is over there but that's all we know," said a staffer in the D.C. CTO's office, Mario Field, who was working from a separate location. Another source familiar with the raid said the FBI had sent all staffers other than senior executives home for the day. WTOP Radio reported that agents are searching the 9th and 10th floors of the building.

A White House spokesman had no immediate comment.

D.C. mayor's spokeswoman Kershaw said, "Our office has been alerted of FBI's being at CTO office, but we cannot comment until it's over and we get more details."

UPDATE, 10:50 A.M.: Says a spokesperson for the FBI’s Washington field office: “It’s an ongoing investigation…I can’t confirm anything at this time.”

UPDATE, 11:15 A.M.: Segraves is reporting an arrest: “Yusuf Acar, 40, was taken into custody this morning by FBI agents at his home in Northwest Washington” in connection with a “federal bribery sting.”

2 arrested in FBI raid at Obama appointee's office
March 12, 2009 - 12:20pm

WASHINGTON - A D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer employee and a private contractor have been arrested in a federal bribery sting, sources tell WTOP.
D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer employee Yusuf Acar and Advanced Integrated Technologies Corporation (AITC) President and CEO Sushil Bansal have been arrested, sources tell WTOP.

Acar, 40, was taken into custody Thursday morning by FBI agents at his home in Northwest D.C.

In 2008, Bansal's firm received .Net Development Support and Peoplesoft Consulting Support contracts from the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Office totaling $350,000.

AITC has also received contracts from the D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles. In 2008, Bansal received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Association of Indians in America, according to AITC's Web site.

The FBI is now serving a search warrant at the office of D.C.'s Chief Technology Officer, WTOP has learned.

"We are there as part of a continuing ongoing criminal investigation," FBI Washington Field Office spokesperson Katherine Schweit tells WTOP.

Schweit would not comment on the details of the investigation.

More than a dozen FBI agents - including evidence technicians - at the office, located at 1 Judiciary Square on 4th Street in Northwest, WTOP's Mark Segraves reports.

Most of the employees have been told to go home. Other employees have been segregated into a waiting room.

Segraves reports the FBI's search has expanded from 9th floor offices to 10th floor offices.

A spokesman for D.C.'s U.S. Attorney tells WTOP he cannot discuss the investigation, as it is currently sealed.

On March 5, President Barack Obama named D.C. Chief Technology Officer Vivek Kundra as the federal government's chief information officer.

Kundra's last day was March 4.

Kundra, who was in charge of technology in the District since 2007, has been a consultant to Obama since he won the election.

Is this Part of "Improving the US Image around the World" ?

White House objects to UN calling US 'deadbeat'

WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House objected Thursday to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's description of the United States as a "deadbeat" donor to the world body.
Ban used the phrase Wednesday during a private meeting with lawmakers at the Capitol, one day after he met with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Ban's "word choice was unfortunate," given that the U.S. is the largest contributor to the United Nations.

are you serious? everybody knows Ban Ki-moons image of the US is based on the last 8 years of Bush as opposed to a little 1st time meeting with obama. if youre gonna fling poo like a monkey in the zoo, youve been around long enough to expect if flung back.
