Unbelievable thats is some of the best work I have seen. What did you use for the ben? That thing pops like nobodys business. Amazing work!

I used Garcia from an old issue SI with a bunch of sepia toned pictures & thought that he had an interesting face. I've had that magazine since a time when I didn't even know who he, or TO was! Definitely not a pretty face, but a challenge with all of the freckles & stuff. (ironically, he looks like my ex)
It's usually a good picture that will hit me when I see it, with a "wow, that would be a good one to draw"
Ben is colored pencil (PrismaColor, they are the best)on black illustration board. I had to clean it up on my old photoediting program because it's so hard to photograph & the black board looked all washed out & the layers of pencil can cast a terrible reflection, it doesn't photograph well at all & is too big to run through any kind of scanner. The actual drawing is a little more mellow, colorwise.
