Steelers back up cornerback Anthony Madison signed his one-year tender, the team announced Friday.

Last season was Madison's best with the team since signing as an undrafted free agent from Alabama in 2006. He had a career-high 25 special teams tackles last year.

He began his Steelers career on the practice squad before moving up to the 53-man roster midway through 2006. He briefly spent time with Tampa Bay in 2007 before rejoining the Steelers.

No financial terms were disclosed.

Well, I hope anyone doing this :jerkit: has never bitched about our special teams play. Our ST played as well as we could ask for and a damn sight better then two years ago. Yeah, who gives a crap if we re-sign some of the guys who stood out on a good ST unit. Re-sign Fox and I'll be thrilled.

Really surprised nobody tried to snatch him away from us. This guy was just amazing last season. hope he gets even better in 2009

I wonder though, with a 1 million dollar contract, is he still sharing an apartment with ike? :chuckle:
