I just finished Play for Pizza by John Grisham which I thought was really good its about an failed NFL QB who goes to play in Italy because no team will pick him up

I was just wondering what are other sports books everyone likes and if you have any suggestions what to read next

That was a decent read...I think there was a thread about it, as well as Sports books not too long ago...

You're OK, It's Just A Bruise by Rob Huizenga. It's written from the point of view of a guy (Huizenga) who was the team doctor for the Raiders back in the early '80s. Excellent book.

I want the 2000-2050 version of that sports almanac from Back to the Future.

If you're into baseball, check out Living on the Black by John Feinstein.

Also from Feinstein is his book Next Man Up, which follows the Ravens during (I think) the 2006 season. It's a really interesting read.

My dad read For Love of the Game-I only saw the Kevin Costner movie version though. It was OK.

"Dealing: The Cleveland Indians' New Ballgame: Inside the Front Office and the Process of Rebuilding a Contender" By Terry Pluto.

For any aspiring GM's THIS is the definitive read on how to recruit talent and build through the draft while using FA to plug holes. It's about baseball, but the basic tenets apply to all sports. There are a lot of people who post here who would have their eyes opened wide if they read this book...

me too. i was hoping it had something to do with the legalization of sports betting outside of vegas. appearently new jersey and delaware have proposed legislation to make it legal in their respective states!
