A couple of football injuries that were gruesome.
Joe Theisman's was awful.
Deshea Townson broke his leg at Alabama, it was ugly.

A couple of baseball ones.
Drabecky's arm snapping in half as well as Tom Browning of the Reds.

Recent ones that stick out for me are an Alabama wr a couple years ago and last season a U of Houston wr ran full speed into some steel carts or something in the back of the endzone...

One of USM's receivers had an ugly leg injury during the New Orleans Bowl a few months ago.
