I think if the steelers might draft a cb or de....butler out of UCONN if he doesn't get drafted before us or sean smith cb out of utah....personally i like sean smith.....hey if your compared to mel blount you definitely have a big upside....and he could be the next mel blount for the steelers...ya neva know....the steelers have a need at cb because of BMACs departure.....gay is alright and townsend is still kinda consistent even though hes old and slow but he only has a few years/a year left in the tank...lol....with Dick LeBeau as smiths coordinator he'll definitely get the best out of him!....check out some of sean smiths pro day....

Darius Butler is awsome too....he is a physical corner and can play wide reciever!! a double threat....if he can return kicks for the steelers....he'll definitely be worthy of the 32nd pick...you cant go wrong with either of them check this video out on youtube of butler....
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Q6znwwOBvWI&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Q6znwwOBvWI&hl=en&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd 311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I would not mind if the steelers draft de jarron gilbert, de tyson jackson, or dt fili moala at number 32.....i think all of these guys would eventually replace smith or keisel....or can contribute right away because they are all big athletic steeler type guys.....

The reason that I think they can afford all of these luxuries is that the steelers resigned all of their starting O-line from last season....YES I KNOW that they need some depth and talent at that position and they can look for some depth in the later rounds if they decide to do so....but i know last years oline sucked but hey they can only get better now that they all had one full season together.... the O-line better, get better in a hurry!!!!....if the steelers decide not to draft an o-linemen in round 1 and 2.....

About the receiver situation i think Limas Sweed will do a decent/okay job filling in at number 3 this year....i don't believe that we need to go after a receiver on the first day.....they can get one on the second to back up limas at number 4....but dont forget about dallas baker....remember him.....yeah....i think that he might be the reason that the steelers don't draft a receiver on the first day because hes been with the steelers for a while and he knows the system but then again you never know....

I hope that the steelers draft day looks a little something like this....but thats just me....

2009 NFL DRAFT STEELERS:

1- CB SEAN SMITH OR CB DARIUS BUTLER( I PREFER SMITH OUT OF THE TWO). OR MAYBE EVEN TYSON JACKSON OR JARRON GILBERT

2-DE JARRON GILBERT(IF AVAILABLE), DE FILI MOALA, OR THEY CAN GO O-LINE OR EVEN CB IF THEY DIDN'T DO SO IN THE 1ST PICK

3-BEST OLINE, D-LINE AVAILABLE IF NOT ADDRESSED IN PICKS 1 & 2, MAYBE A WR SUCH AS RAMSES BARDEN, OR A DEFENSIVE BACK...

4-GET THE BEST O-LINE/D-LINE AVAILABLE....

5-A)AN ATHLETIC/PROJECT TYPE CB.....LIKE IKE TAYLOR WAS......MAYBE DOMINIQUE JOHNSON....6'2"....HE REMINDS ME A LITTLE OF HOW IKE WAS [A PROJECT] WHEN THE STEELERS DRAFTED HIM.....

5-B)GET MORE DEPTH IN O-LINE/D-LINE, MAYBE EVEN A FULLBACK

6. A RETURN SPECIALIST......OR QB..

7.A) DEPTH ON WHATEVER NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED(O-LINE, D-LINE, QB, DB)

7.B) DEPTH ON WHATEVER NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED

NOTE- THE STEELERS MAY TRADE UP IN THE DRAFT AND MAY USE UP SOME OF THE SECOND DAY PICKS....I DONT THINK THAT THEY'LL TRADE ANY OF THEIR FIST DAY PICKS

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK 'N' YOUR OPINION ON WHAT THE STEELERS DRAFT MIGHT LOOK LIKE???......

The Steelers can pretty much afford to take the best player available (Excluding obvious positions such as QB; RB) and that is what they have a history of doing. If the value isn't there, they will trade the pick.

Personally, I would test the waters to see how high Darius Butler might go. I have him at 27 to the Colts and his stock has been rising so I could see them moving up a few picks to get him, if, of course, they like him. But that applies to a number of players. We won't reach for an O-lineman as that is just a stupid move. Duane Brown anyone?

If Alex Mack or Ebon Britton are still available the Steelers should definetely draft them. Of course you never know

No interest in Mack...

They should be able to get Wood in the second...

Yes but IMO I would like the steelers to address they're defensive needs with some talent in the first round and then in the second trade up for mack if he's even there in the second...but whatever happens come draft day...the steelers are going to do a great job in the first day picks....HOPEFULLY!!!....

We really don't have any defensive needs.

The only defensive starter we lost was Bryant McFadden, who didn't beat out Townsend in training camp. William Gay did very well replacing McFadden when him and Townsend were both injured.

I can see us taking a CB in round two or three, but not in round one. It's not as big of a need as some people think. Only way I want a CB in round one if somehow Jenkins or Davis falls to us and taking an offensive lineman isn't there worth taking.

But our biggest need is the offensive line. Ben Roethlisberger cannot get beat up like he has the last couple of years...otherwise he won't see the back end of his contract.

wood wont last to the steelers at pick 64...he will probably in the top 10 picks of the second round, possibly a first round pick

That is true....I wouldn't mind if they went offensive line....but the thing is the Steelers have all of last seasons starters coming back....i know they SUCKED @ protecting Big Ben but it was they're first year as starters together and they got to the SB and won...hey, they can only get better..right?!?....and that is why i think that they kinda have the luxury of maybe going defense in the first and then trading up in the second for a good O linemen...but hey, don't get me wrong i also want to see MACK in black and gold this season and they just might make it happen....hopefully hes there by the time the Steelers pick in the first...

By the way if they decide to go defense first....they should definitely draft an O-linemen in the 2nd round.....or vise versa....but in the end I think that they'll do a good job drafting players that will contribute in one way or another to make this GREAT STEELERS TEAM EVEN GREATER!!!!.....:tt02::champs:

From one of my favorite sports movies, "You have to protect your best asset", after Coach Gary Gaines kept Boobie Miles in the game and got hurt. That's why I think if there is a offensive lineman worth taking then we have to take him to help our best asset be the best player he can be.

Excellent choices but if a blue chip lineman is not available I would not mind Sean Smith the Db. He looks very special.

i agree....but lets hope there is that type of linemen cuz man looking at the superbowl game a couple of times again....big ben needs help up front!!!!....i just can't imagine him going down this year....he needs some help....but most of all he needs his line to get better in a hurry!!!...but other than that....like u mentioned if there isn't a "blue chip lineman" available...i hope they go with sean smith.....but idk....that doesn't seem likely but the steelers have been looking @ a lot of CB prospects......but i dont think they brought Sean Smith....so lets see who they pick....
