The NFL Replay of the 2004 Jets Steelers Playoff Game was on NFL Network today, and just hearing Myron's voice brought a little tear to my eye. I miss hearing him on Cope's Cabanna after the game and all his yinzerisms..... The man truly loved his Pittsburgh Steelers and had an imagination with words that is equaled by no other. Sorry you couldn't be here for the 6th Mr. Cope but I know you were watching from somewhere with your towel waving and that voice screaming 'Yoi Big Ben just thew it to Holmzey and he gots his two toeseys down around those three Cardinalz defenderz'

One of the most warm and genuine people I've ever had the honor of meeting. They broke the mold with Myron.
Just listening to radio broadcasts of other teams makes me appreciate him all the more.

I totally agree. :drink: He was a man among men and the Steelers most diehard fan. :tt02:

There will never be another Myron. :tombstone:

I posted this some time before. I used to hate to hear Myron's voice. I thought it was irritating. Being in the Marine Corps at the time, with the exception of my time as a Drill Instructor (someone near the Parris Island tv station must love the Steelers, I saw every game for two years) Other places it is hard to get a game so, I reverted to internet radio. Man you learn Myron was the best when you find the game. I would even brag on him when I would give the station link to that week’s opponent. They would come to work Monday and complain about Myron’s voice. I’d smile and say, your just mad cause you got whooped and a “Hmmm Ha DOUBLE YOI TO YOU”

I have to admit, I was never a Myron Cope fan although I love his writing. And I also appreciate the things he brought to the Steeler lore.
